2022 Kubota M5-111 Review!

I’ve had the tractor for about five months, here are some of my thoughts on this beast!

The problem with Kubota is they put the steering in front of the front axle instead of behind the axle where it would be protected.

Hi with this tractor kubota,have seemed to gone backwards, you are 100% correct about the controls that are usually located on the rear mud guards, it seems crazy to keep jumping up into the cab to adjust the height of the lift arms , Christ knows what kubota was thinking, I understand in this day and age things should be made easier, but obviously with this kubota 5 111 it’s a very basic tractor , personally the lift arm controls on the rear mud guards should be standard , I see that some don’t even come with a hydraulic trailer hitch , but luckily enough it’s an option, I’ve seen some with a pto control on the rear mud guards,so why no lift arm controls,simply crazy even the m100gx had more features ,and that’s a lot older tractor

I have the same tractor, it has a little over 1400 hours on it. Now that it seems like the DEF header issue has been resolved it's been a great tractor. I want to see the review on that cutter though.

What size of disc do you have for this tractor. we have river loam soil and trying to figure out it out the right size.

The external 3 point adjustment is an option and can be dealer added:)

That would be nice, I’ll have to call someone else there to ask them. They told me it was not an option. Still should be factory though.

@@seanforney24 Salesmen tell you something is not an option if they don't have a tractor on the lot that has it. You can go the the Kubota site and build the tractor and see it is an option. I had to order my tractor optioned the way I want it. Also my it not being standard people do not have to pay for something they won't use. Many tractors this size that are used in hay only the farmers completely remove the lift arms.

@@boltactionshooter It's an option for the European version but I hadn't seen it for the USA version. The European version is using electronic controls for the 3pt so it's like a Deere and they can put switches on the fenders. The M4 has a cable driven knob that is an option, and looks like it could be adapted to the M5. Personally, I just reach down and pull on the linkage and move it where I need it.

Sean, I have the same tractor and so far it's been great. When moving around fairly slow, when I turn my steering all the way to one side or the other it almost feels like I have the brakes applied or like something is in a bind. My 7040 never did that. Does yours?

Make sure your 4WD switch is off. If on, it will feel like that.

@@seanforney24 Yep, it's off. It's been like that since new, especially backing up. That's really scary if yours isn't like that.

@@RJMachine62 if it’s under warranty still I’d call and get it looked at to be safe. You could potentially also have the diff locked. That would do that as well?

$68,400 for tractor and $9,400 for loader. Then they gave a $5k discount.

Should have bought at Massey Ferguson 5711 Dyna 4 cab tractor for your forever tractor AGCO Smokes everybody out there now with quality and feature rich machines. Also your loader will lift 4000lbs………. (NOT 7000lbs). Drive a MF 5711 Dyna 4 sometime and you will kick yourself for not getting one. Plus you will never use the bottom four or the top four gears in the transmission on your farm…… just the middle 16 basically.

@@nalley6815 what model Massey have you had issues with?? My 110hp 5711 Dyna 4 has been flawless period! I also own a 2860M 60hp hydro tractor and same thing… flawless operation.. I’m also a huge fan of New Holland as I also own 2ea 125HP T6050 4WD tractors. the AGCO 5711D tractor has the best power shift transmission I have ever owned. I really use all my equipment and pile up the hours on all my tractors. I’m a very Happy AGCO/Massey customer.

@@genewilliams7497 the global series Masseys seem to be junk. From the people I’ve talked to it seems to be more unhappy customers than happy. The dyna transmission is awesome. But with the global series it’s like putting lipstick on a pig. 90% of the issues people talk about is the air, def, and clutch problems. 4700’s take the cake on problems. Global 5700’s seem to be less problematic but I still hear the same stuff. Just not as often. I think the last GOOD Masseys were the 5400 series with the Perkins. I love those. And older mechanical machines. I have a 393 and you can’t kill it. It hasn’t had a good life and she just chugs along. It’s got so much torque and grunt it just pulls. Will absolutely out pull any newer tier 4 100-115hp tractor. Pulls the shit out of my discbine. I had a 2008 Deere 6330 and it struggled to pull the same cutter. Struggled to pull a Deere 458 too. And it was pre emissions. I never did understand that.

@@nalley6815 good discussion! You are correct the 4700 are very problematic. They are manufactured in South America…. Banana republic machines 😂😂. The 5700 series are manufactured in France and my New Holland’s T6050’s are made in England My 5711D dresses out at about 16,000 lbs and my NH’s dress out at 18,000lbs so pulling anything is no issue with my Massey. Or NH’s. I’m also equipped with creepers on the MF and basically every available performance option and then some, tuning as well. I do know that many folks that have performance issues haven’t kept current with software updates as they become available. I’m 63 YO and still think the JD 4020 is the best thing since ball bearings were invented… your older Iron will never be eclipsed because they were built to last…. 👍👍🔥🔥
