Having owned (2) of these over the last 9 years (2011 intro'd Outlander Sport platform). Both have outperformed virtually every other marque in around town driving. This Mitsu is 90% and the other 10% is almost inconsequential. FYI, 400,000 miles without a single expensive repair bill. Windows, electronics, everything just works. Sure, it's light & massively underpowered, yet- the lack of power is only noted merging on highway ramps. Surely, that is less LESS than 10% of the time? If you like the benefit of technology, but don't want to pay for a certain badge on your grill- this is your answer. Long lasting, robust & reliable- dependable in a daily driver sort of way. People act like hill descent control gives your vehicle lower gears or better brakes suddenly. Put it in the lowest gear you have, and cover the brake pedal. The ABS system in your vehicle always wants to keep you in a straight line anyway, the only thing hill descent control does is downshift and apply the brakes for you, and make you feel all warm and fuzzy that your vehicle is suddenly more capable.

@SlowRollaAE823 жыл бұрын
I might be totally wrong here, but the Eclipse cross was one of, if not the first to revive a nameplate with a totally different vehicle. Maybe that's why there was a lot less negativity with the newer vehicles. Based on reviews, it seems the mach-e drives like a pony car so they did well there. As far as the Corolla cross, it's a (relatively) inexpensive, compact, and (assuming) long lasting appliance that's a crossover. Putting the Corolla name on it kinda makes sense.

First off, Love this review, and the channel in general. Clear information and a great showing of everything a potential buyer would want to know, and really appreciate the effort that was put into this and all other review videos. However, I would like to point out that the off road portion of the test should be taken with a grain of salt. The factory A/S tires (Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422's) on the Eclipse Cross are designed primarily for fuel efficiency, comfort, and long tread life. They downright suck off-road, especially when compared to factory A/T tires like the Geolander's on the Outback Wilderness or the Falken Wildtrek's found on the Jeep Compass Trailhawk. My partner owns a 2022 Eclipse Cross and we've mounted a set of Falken Wildtrek's for our camping trips. It is far and away better off-road now, the S-AWC system really comes into it's own with proper tread mounted. I don't mean in anyway to bash the video, I really do love these reviews, it's just personal experience shows that the 4WD system isn't the weak link, it's the tires themselves, I'm actually surprised how well it did considering the wet conditions. They were probably the most mediocre aspect of the vehicle to be honest (that and the piano black interior bits that scratch is you look at them wrong. Everybody from Mazda to Mercedes has those bits though, so can't complain too much). Otherwise, loving the vehicle and can't wait for the next review!

Im an Australian, and Mitsubishi has been well established for over 50 years with dealerships everywhere. My wife and i are in our early sixties and traditionally drove sedans. We bought Exceed (sel) and honestly cannot fault our 2023 model . No issues after 16,000 klm ( 10,000 m ) and what we appreciate most is the safety equipment. I prefer non acting steering because if you are trying to miss a pothole or obstacle, it doesn't drive you back into it. Not concerned with 10inch displays or lavish interior, to us simplicity is the attraction. Power is more than adequate, we do not want sports car acceleration. S AWC has been great in the wet and all off road driving has been handled with ease, looking forward to fitting appropriate tyres in future. Our model does have electric tailgate which we like. Done with kids and grandchildren its size is perfect. Ten year warranty is a no-brainer. I would definitely recommend particularly to seniors, not too big to park or maintain. We looked at Outlander but did not require 7 seats or the latest tech etc. Love our Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Shopping for a ‘17-19 Escape Titanium AWD for my girlfriend and I was shocked to see ‘19+ AWD Eclipse Crosses with similar mileage and options popping up at the same price point and sometimes a bit higher. I was a DSM guy for many years (owned 5 GSXs) so I still have a soft spot for Mitsubishi, but it’s a bummer to see that they’re no longer a sleeper budget pick. Yes their warranty is nice but the 2.0t and regular 6-speed auto in the Escape, along with the crazy amount of options in the Titanium trim, make it a clear winner in that ~$20k price bracket. It’s a shame because my plan was to “happen to see” an Eclipse Cross for 20% less than the Escapes and then talk her into it. I still have the Ecosport up my sleeve but I imagine the test drive will turn her off that one lol.

wondering how reliable long term, is this a traditional rubber bandy on a cone cvt?

A bit harsh with the off road test, deliberately making it difficult for the car isn't what everyday drivers are going to do. Everyone knows steady slow momentum in difficult conditions is always best without stressing the car too much. For anyone considering a Mitsubishi they are very reliable cars , I've owned 4 Mitsubishi's over the years without any major issues!

Mitsubishi is missing so many great ideas. A galant cross vr-4 (a turbo-hybrid wagon w/S-awc), a new montero/montero sport that reside above the oitlandee. I know all of that Federalizarion money (millions), but Mitsubishi can't survive in N. America, even with Nissan/Renault money. Even if Mitsu did all SUVs (and wagons), they could pick up more market share...they need a mid-size truck too

Mitsubishi needs to bring back the endeavor, with a body on frame. 💪

Endeavor was not a body on frame. It was a unibody and the platform was the same used on the Eclipse and the Galant built at that time.
