Fantastic video Tom and Joy. And a great innovation of having Joy driving it too. This is an excellent move as I’ve noticed from the various Tesla FB groups that many women have Teslas and absolutely love them. So having the two perspectives is just great. More of this please. Also, my wife & I are older so it was extremely informative to have the size comparison at the end. Ease of entry is a bit of an issue with the Model 3 for me. We both have Model 3s at the moment, but we are both looking forward to keeping one and changing over the other to a Model Y. Your test drive has helped us appreciate we are making the right choice. Oh thank god! I've been having doubts! You know, the model 3 is just brilliant, so should I be spending more money on the Y? I've named my 3 and say Good morning to her when going to work (sad, I know) so it's almost like a betrayal to send her off to the knackery already. Most of the reviews are positive but the niggling doubts remained. Should I cancel my order??? Argh, so conflicted. Then here is Joy, clearly enjoying the higher seating position and, like me, likes the firm ride for the feedback it gives the driver. And to see the side by side comparison of the seat height compared to the driver was amazing. Such Relief! All doubts gone, and once again looking forward to delivery day of my next Tesla adventure. BTW, it was VERY interesting to hear that the charging cable is still included (as it should be, Elon) and the tow hitch thingy will be enabled next year. I've been thinking about getting a teardrop camper and now I can look in earnest. Best Model Y review so far. Well done both of you, but the genuine comments from Joy just made the difference.

@LudicrousFeed2 жыл бұрын
None for now, that acceleration is addictive!
@rosmarbal2 жыл бұрын
Just curious why you're beginning to regret it?
@mr260z32 жыл бұрын
I guess regret might be a bit strong, I just feel like the Performance doesn’t offer the same value as the RWD. The LFP battery chemistry should be good for 2000 charge cycles vs the NCA’s 500 - 800 cycles. Also the extra range from the performance is negligible considering you shouldn’t charge and NCA over 80% regularly, whereas the LFP can be charged to 100% with minimal battery degradation. I feel the extra acceleration, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, alloy pedals and spoiler aren’t worth the 25k premium (maybe 10k).

Also I found the turning circle terrible, but the 3 is also pretty bad as well. The car I drove was built in February and there were a number of squeaks and rattles already. The tesla you have has the battery degraded over the years? How many km has it travelled and year model .
@LudicrousFeed2 жыл бұрын
Good question - I’ll need to do a more detailed investigation to give you a meaningful answer but as a ballpark my 2015 Model S is about 10% degradation

@@LudicrousFeed How many km has it travelled.? Planning soon to order a model Y would love the performance model as I love fast cars but expensive. What do you think about the rear drive model ? I drive a VW Passat R 36.

Model S P85+ with 330.000km / almost 8 years old and the first battery with 12.6% degradation only. Still use it for 850km trips regularly.Has seen a fair ammount of dirt roads (I live inland Australia). Had very little issues only, never broke down. Best car I ever had.

Rather Model 3 LR as much as I love the Y there is no LR in the Y. Base Model Y is to slow for me and short range...grrrr

Man, what's with all the ding dong bing bong noises all the time? Is that all Autopilot sounds?
@LudicrousFeed2 жыл бұрын
It’s unusual I have to say. Our Model 3 normally doesn’t make those noises and I didn’t have time to investigate further during the drive
