Congrats! Just curious when you cheer for a university do they pay for all travel and expenses on trips like these since you are representing them? Or is it like All-Star where you have to individually pay to compete and cover your own travel expenses?

My university and booster club paid for travel and lodging. We also got per diem- basically they break down how much it would cost for us to eat each day and gave us that amount to cover food. I’m pretty sure most other major universities do the same.

Late response and I’m not in cheer at my university myself but I’m in band and the cheer teams travel with us usually (except for their own things that we don’t go to obviously). Everything travel related is paid for by the university for us. They pay for flights (usually charter), hotels, all food, admission fees to things etc. literally anything and everything involving the trips. I know Alabama’s band gets more paid for than my school pays for even and mine covers a lot, so I’d assume it’s similar for cheer and they pay for it all.

They spoke out and were punished so when they came back they chose the song Like A Boy which basically highlights misogyny and how they would be treated better if they were boys. They won 1st place with that routine
