Great insights about this team. My feeling is that the Jets will be much more competitive than everyone expects. The key missing piece (literally) for the Jets is the QB. Hopefully Flacco can keep the Jets competitive until there’s a long-term answer at QB. Please do something about those awful uniforms! 26:42 - Great way to close this episode. The Jets didn’t need Wilson. There wasn’t enough talent on the team to pick Wilson at #2. The best thing would have been to sign a free agent. Then, get some talent on the team. One year later, the offensive line is still an issue. The other pieces might be falling into place. At best, the Jets could have drafted a QB to develop in this year’s draft, or next year’s draft. Instead, the Jets draft an unproven player with supposed ‘arm talent’. The Jets also glossed over the fact that he played at a university that plays in an uncompetitive conference. What have we seen from Wilson? We’ve seen a 9 game body of work. Granted, it’s not all his fault. He shouldn’t have started at the beginning of last season because he wasn’t surrounded by enough talent. He played very poorly and showed bad decision making in one preseason game. We don’t know when he’ll be back, or what his upside is once he returns. So, it is best to start evaluating whether he is the long-term answer at QB. Ironically, this is pretty much a repeat of the same issue with Darnold. He was overhyped coming out of college. If anyone really scrutinized Darnold’s college film, it was clear that he had bust written all over him. @wally wanker - Thanks for your commentary. You haven’t offered any better insights.
