Thanks Ben for this snapshot of the past Padres season. I’ll save it & every time I get moody this Winter, I’ll replay it to remind myself what I have to look forward to in 2023. I still question why Alfaro didn’t get to play even 1 inning in the postseason? He came up clutch so many times this past summer.

One of my favorite defensive moments was Jurickson making that catch at the track in SF, we were sitting out in the bleachers at Oracle and we thought he ate shit and missed it but made a terrific catch

I enjoyed this season as much and more, than I enjoyed the '98 season...because we did it all without the "best player" in the lineup. But to see Melvin galvanize these guys, was a sight to behold, to the end. And unlike the '98 squad, this team has a core that will make us a flat out NASTY club to play in '23. I cantwait for next season. And I want to thank Mr Seidler for giving Preller the green light to bring in Hader/Soto. And my hope is, they figure out how to keep Drury here.
