Most folks don't realize that it appeared to be hard to draw by Steven because he was trying so hard to ease it into full draw to keep from slamming the stops against the cables. That's why he said he would probably have an easier time with it if he put low let-off mods on it. I would love to see him shoot the Levitate side by side with his Full Throttle after he puts a set of low L/O mods on it. And that includes a group at "Aydeen" meters AND a few shots through the chrono.
@PoeOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Our crew wasn’t impressed with the Levitate at all, the vibration is awful and the draw cycle is ridiculously harsh at our 30-5-31.5 draw lengths. We think the EVO EVL and NTN are miles better in every way. That said, your reviews are always well done. You don't attempt to talk over people's heads, you just tell us what you think of the bow. Thank you!
@TheArrowsEdge2 жыл бұрын
I've only seen a couple of your videos so far but that surprise and excitement that seemingly overwhelmed you after shooting a dozen arrows with it... is exactly why you should shoot a Levitate! Can't wait to get mine in my hands! 20:11

I was definitely laughing at the group while you were shooting. I'd love to see the draw cycle with a lower let off module. I'm still adjusting to my EVL draw cycle.

One thing I've always noticed with compound exclusive users, and a lot of trad archers as well... is when they go up in poundage 80, 90, 100 They tend to attempt to use the same draw style. I realised (after watching documentaries on English long bowmen) that leaning into the bow and engaging the back muscles into your draw helps with the high draw weights of the old medievil war bows. So I decided to give that a try with some lighter bows to get the technique down pat. Then started working my way up. Its unbelievable the amount of power you can transfer when you do this right. Now I recommed this technique to everyone! Including compound bow users. I ended up modifying the technique when I'm pulling heavy compounds because of the let off point. Pretty simple really, lean in, engaged your back during the draw, once you hit the "let off" slowly raise back up out of your lean and anchor. That's all it is, because at let of you don't need that power draw anymore, unlike a 150lb, 180lb war bow that requires a flowing (almost a snapshot) technique. You can disengage and hold at let off just fine for a steady aim. Works for me, might not work for everyone. Give it a try with the heavier draws and see how you go. For me, it really feels like I'm drawing a bow of a lower weight by about 20 or 30lbs. Could just be me, but people I show this to seem to say the same. Just try it, feels weird at first, but really... what have you got to lose?

Shooting on 85% was a game changer. I was also blown away at how it does at distance. As for the draw, not the greatest out there, but I promise you it's nowhere near as bad as you made it out to be, and easy to get used to, ha!!

I don’t understand some of the comments in here. I shot one in the store today about 20 shots. While, it definitely has a stouter draw cycle than the evolve cams, I found it to be ridiculously dead in terms of hand shock/vibration. It was really quiet too. More so than I expected it to be. I got used to the draw cycle after about 10 shots. I’ve got NTN’s, Xpedite NXT, and a Mach 1, and the levitate may well be the most dead in the hand, even more so than my NTN’s.
@Buran012 жыл бұрын
That was enough the previous years, while Hoyt's carbon bows were heavier than ever the aluminium ones and more noisy and with more vibrations. But the RX-7 Ultra is now lighter (albeit not as much as the Levitate/Mach 1), quieter, more dead on habd and albeit ~13 fps slower has a much smoother draw cycle. If I wanted to spent ~1900 $ in a carbon bow last years I would chose the Mach 1 over any Hoyt, but this year I would chose the RX-7 Ultra. Still, maybe PSE would reveal a Mach 1 35" in January, but so far I think that in this 2021 Hoyt finally eclipsed with his (hugely expensive) hunting lineup.

I do think the NXT33/NTN was the perfect size and spec for a do all bow. If you had to own one that’s still the bow I’d recommend. The Evl not so much to be honest. I felt the Evl 32 is missing something but can’t quite put a finger on it.

I shoot the PSE evo NXT 33 And this bow shoot awesome, the draw cycle it’s dream, it’s excellent shooter bow 300fps on 440 Easton arrow.
@Buran012 жыл бұрын
The Mach 1 was the best carbon bow by far, but the arrival of the RX-7 Ultra has changed the things a lot: albeit heavier than the Mach 1 or Levitate, has a much smoother draw cycle and shares the quietness and lack of vibartion of the best bows from Mathews. Despite being ~13 fps slower than the Levitate I think will be preferred over the PSE due is easier to draw, has longer ATA and BW and some nice features as a better cable guard. The video is still impressive in terms of how well you can shoot with a bow you're comfy with, but I would chose the 80% let off mod also.

I guess with it being lighter, putting some stabilization on it will still end up lighter than another bow with the same added weight. Seems like such a bow could do with bolt holes low down on the riser to add some lower weight, like with barebow. I'd love to see what you think this bow needs for stabilization... Like what would be the minimum to get it balanced :)
@patrik.clifford2 жыл бұрын
Thats it, we have talked about this before, just use a hunting bow for your next target competition :-) Without stabilizers of course ha ha... nothing to loose trying ;-) I shot the swedish nationals with my Bowtech Revolt X this year :-) Instead of my reckoning 38, cant say I gave up anything in precision...

Was able to shoot this bow in a bow shop today. Was a PSE fan Boy and have owned the Oman, brute, full throttle, DNA, decree IC, evo 31 and 28. Now shooting Mathews v3 27. The bow does not seem as aggressive as explained in video. Does have smooth draw cycle imo. Definitely not like the omen or full throttle that will rip your shoulder off if you’re not paying attention. Has very nice valley and back wall. Very very light bow, lightest I’ve ever handled. Lots of hand shock and recoil. Definitely not dead in the hand as he says here. Shoot the v3 and you’ll understand what dead in the hand is. Would I buy it? Not for tree stand or blind hunting but maybe if I was hunting out west and lugging around the mountains and if Biden handed out some more welfare money ;). He is correct about vibration. Didn’t feel any but definitely had recoil. Might help to load up weight with stabilizer and back bar but defeats purpose. He is also correct about quiet. It’s not as quiet as my v3 but it’s definitely one of the quieter PSE’s I’ve shot. Shot it at 60 and 70 pounds. Hope this helps.

@jayy55812 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review. To me this bow fills a small niche. This is for the mountain hunter who bow hikes for days trying to make one precise, precious shot on big game with years of draw lottery points on the line and or the backpack hunter with only 1 or 2 legit shot opportunities all year. This bow was not meant for leisure sunday league shooting arrow after arrow after tea and strumpets. Neither is this the bow for treestanding after the 100yard walk from the ATV. PSE offers the EVL bows for the rec hunter and the focus/citations for league/comp. Purposeful engineering similar to carbon mountain bikes and carbon rifle stocks is what separates this piece from all the others-The lightest, most efficient, weapon for spot and stalk mountain hunting. If the price is too steep PSE still makes the Mach1 which is just as legit with a better draw cycle.

Harsh draw cycle, wind, no stabs and the best groups I ve seen you shoot...thats funny...Poe Outdoors I shot this bow last week and it shoots great...Ive had a PSE carbon bow since they came out and this is a hunters bow... absolutely no vibration in the hand...and mouse fart quiet....draw cycle is harder on the back end but the weight and speed if perfect..and they shoot and hold so damn good...The Levitate is a great bow. So if you dont have Mathews stickers on the back of your 4X4 truck and Mathews banners over your mini bar in your garage you will love this bow JK...LOL Oh ya Im 69 and shot this bow at 65 with no problem...Im really surprised you had such a problem with this bow...The Full Throttle was twice as hard on back end of the draw...JS

3 of our guys shoot Mathews, 1 Bowtech (me) and 1 PSE but we aren't brand loyal. I shoot a Bowtech Reign 7 which is absolutely dead in the hand and quiet, for me the best I've ever shot in those two categories. Is your draw length between 30.5 - 31.5"?
@bigrainbow252 жыл бұрын
@@PoeOutdoors I'm a 30 1/2 in draw... I watched a guy this weekend shoot at 300 25x with a carbon Mach 1 with his target setup... He's waiting for his citation... he said to me I hope I can shoot this well with my citation... the carbon bows from PSE just absolutely shoot and hold for being so light..like I said this is a Hunters bow.... once again the levitate is Stiff on the back of the draw cycle but for being so light and so damn fast I will take that all day long... shoot the damn thing at 60 lb and still be faster than most 70 lb bows... in fact that's what I ordered is a 60-pound levitate... and when she's strapped to my backpack and I'm heading up the mountain I will be grinning all the way not even knowing it's there...

You can tell there is a lot of shock and vibration in the hands after shooting. PSE has always looked for speed but never did anything with the vibration in the hand. Matthews and Hoyt definitely take the lead again with their bows.

That cam looks like it's just a little more aggressive than the PSE Evolve cam system. When I had that bow 63 lbs felt like 50. Looks like PSE came up with a more repeatable grip with this carbon model bow. Steven doesn't like high letoff with a huge valley so I think he was referring to both of those things. I didn't like the Evolve @ 90% or 85% letoff either.

not the group I expected from a super light fast hunting bow......and you can see the farthest arrow from center deflected off the nock of a previous arrow and stuck cockeyed.
