My 2020 Ram Laramie 5.7 with 34.5 “ tires and 3.21 rear. Effective ratio is 3.01. Highway mpg went down from 18-19 to 15-16 mpg. It drives fine and doesn’t struggle either around town or on the highway.

Are you on stock wheels? No level or lift? I was thinking about getting these wheels. But not sure if they will rub. I have a 2019 limited with orp and air ride

@@Var272I’m on stock rims with leveling kit. You will need to do some minor trimming. There’s info online showing exactly where and how.

I didn't hear that you programmed for the 35" tires. My dealer had firestone destination 35" on my 2023 1500. I read there is a security block on the obd, and a jump cable is needed for a clean obd. So I get 13/14mpg, mph shows 10% slow so 55 is really 60. And odometer is off I don't know what - I'm thinking 10% low. Enjoyed your video. I didn't want to change the tires as they're around $1400 each and a level was done - I think I got the 4 tires free as sticker calls for smaller.

5thgenforums guys are obsessed with 3.92s for some reason. According to guys there, you don't have a real truck unless you have 3.92 gears. The same guys have 5.5 ft beds, lol. Cracks me up. They love quoting theoretical numbers, but I've yet to see any real world data that shows they are better in anything except acceleration when towing heavy or on hills, etc. Lots and lots of BS posts about how you can't tow with 3.21 or you can't put anything bigger than stock tires on them. Turns out the 3.21 is fine, and nobody would notice in the real world. These 3.21s blow the doors off many older "HD" trucks... Lot of people that love to compare and make wild claims their trucks that are just silly. My truck with 3.21 and stock 20" Longhorn wheels and basic 32" "touring" tires gets 14-15 city and 19-20 all highway, so your ~17 average 50/50 is spot on what I'm seeing. I'm probably going to go with 33" All Terrains because no rubbing and 33s on 20s are the biggest size before getting into heavy tires. I also don't tow. We are looking on getting a pop-up which won't be more than 2,000 pounds.

Well I can tell you what maybe it’s the model but I have a 3.92 in my rebel standard and my buddy had a reg fully loaded 3.21 and idk if it’s just the model of the truck but he tends to get 20-21 on the expressway going 70-73, and I manage to get 16.8 17.3 so idk, and I’ve also notice when we tow are campers 2 30 ft camper I can manage around 10.7 mpg around 65, and he’s usually around 9 so I can’t really tell you what reasoning but something’s going on there, rebel has 33 big one has 32 so maybe i guess

How's your mpg? What did you get with stock tires versus the 35s?
@BayouToad8 ай бұрын
@Bigbird4000gt Didn't have the stock tires on long enough to even notice. But I get about 13 city (true city) and about 16-18 hwy depending on speed.

@@BayouToad I appreciate that info... stock 20" rims or did you go bigger?
@BayouToad8 ай бұрын
@Bigbird4000gt still 20" rims but I have Fuels and they are 20x10. So a little wider/ heavier. My tires are 76lbs each too which is pretty heavy.

you should have a look at the door card between the same truck with the 3.21 like your truck and the exact same truck with 3.92 . the max towing will be differant on the door with the 3.92 getting a higher weight rating.
