Sick upgrades bro. Did the same with my Giant trance 2021. Went with full XT over GX ( but have GX on my hardtail) and a ton of other upgrades, also Got the fox 36 as a fresh take off, came 160mm changed it to 140mm since my trance came with a 130 originally for the same reasons you did. I would recommend the SKF seal kit, just did it to my fox 36 rhythm. Night and day difference. Much smoother. Highly recommend it bro.

Thanks - appreciate the tip on the seal kit.

Nice upgrades, thanks for sharing. I’m upgrading the SX drive chain to the GX group set. What XD driver did you go with?
@dayinnymtb Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I went with the Specialized 3-pawl XD driver - In a previous video (the one I believe that says I went full GX) I posted a link for it. But here you go: www.fanatikbike.com/products/specialized-xd-3-pawl-steel-freehub-body

nice bike men..... did you have considered the cascade link? any thoughts about it? seems a lots of stumpy alloy riders talks great about it
@dayinnymtb Жыл бұрын
I’ve looked at it but am not considering the Cascade link at this time. I would like to do a little more research on the geometry change and whether Specialized honors warranties (which I may or may not have already voided at this point 😂).
@XqDezzy10 Жыл бұрын
@@dayinnymtb i talk to cascade, and no geometry change…only improvement because ours stumpy have a very linear linkage, and this link will improve overall riding experience. I’m also informing about if it’s really worth… for the moment, I only see entusiastic review like everywhere, so I’m a bit curious

@@XqDezzy10 I think if you frequently go through your travel the extra 9mm or w/e it is may be beneficial. Then again a piggy back shock may have a bigger impact.

Yoo DayinNY. Been following your Stumpjumper build. I have the same 22' Matte black stumpy. I just finished up the GX drivetrain swap toward the end of the season and I found a screaming deal on a Lyrik Ultimate Charger 3 and went from 140 to 150. I am also thinking about the cascade link to help out with the bottoming out I have been running into. Air tokens helped a ton, but I figured paired with the link would be a dream. Then maybe I'll be done ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nice choices - I did end up doing a bit more, new pedals and dropper lever since this video. I am thinking about a new rear wheel and maybe a piggy back shock. I kind of want to avoid the cascade if I can. Let me know if you go that route and how you like it. :)

You ever ride in Port Jervis, NY?
@dayinnymtb Жыл бұрын
I haven’t - I’m located in the Albany area.

@@dayinnymtb ah ok. If you're feeling adventurous you should check out the trails down here in Port. They're pretty good. How are the trails up there in Bethlehem?
@dayinnymtb Жыл бұрын
@@nyreppin1 I will add that to the list. There are some nice trails up here, North Bethlehem is well maintained and offer some decent variety - nothing too difficult but good to stay frosty. You get out of it what you put into it.

@@dayinnymtb thanks for the heads up bro. Hopefully before the snow falls I can make a trip up there.
