In November 2022, Masters of the Fly and Tarpon Town hosted a four-day fishing trip in Campeche, Mexico to chase tarpon and snook on the Yucatan flats and deep into the mangroves.

@@mastersofthefly2930 tough, tarpon are different! Pretty slim pickings first several days, 1 or 2 for all day effort. Fortunately hit this mangrove lagoon last 2 hours of my last day...got 12-15! Good way to end.

Headed there is April what rod did you guys generally run in the tight mangroves great video

Hey Shan. We mostly used 8 and 9-weight rods. I brought a 10 but didn't use it. The best rod was David's 8' 9 wt. Hardy, which was awesome for punching casts into the Mangrove tunnels :).
