Your reaction to the acceleration is hilarious. It’s scary to think that there are so many of these on the road, the traffic light drag race is basically over for petrol/diesel cars. Great video!!

Also, I don’t know if I missed it but what was the road and wind noise like at speed and I heard that Tesla model 3 performance suspension doesn’t really settle at speed and is fidgety, is the model Y any better?
@ParagonCarsLondon
@ParagonCarsLondon Жыл бұрын
@@Adamlllllllllllljjjljljjjjj i mentioned it later in the review. wind/road noise aren’t actually that bad, in fact it’s around audi a4 levels of quiet. Suspension needs work though as it doesn’t control its mass well enough. Didn’t notice it being overly fidgety though.

UPDATE: In terms of efficiency the Tesla was around 50% cheaper to run when compared to the average petrol powered vehicle when charged at home.

plus the value it holds, which is even more insane than apple products, it is sometimes higher than new even depending on the demand. plus basically no maintainance, you can do 250.000 miles and more without ever changing brake pads/discs, you simply never need them.
@JohnSmith-pn2vl

tesla does not use regen braking, its all real braking with the pedal, you have to use it from time to time to keep them grippy.
@TheRoggan123

It should be ALOT cheaper than that if you use hourly tariffs and charge at night, its a fraction of the average price, like 1/5 or less vs the average price. Sometimes the actual electricity is virtually free so you only pay tax and the network fee per KWh. Comparing a Model Y vs a C63 the Tesla is less than 1/10 the price per mile in fuel/electricity :D

@@OldManTonythey do have regen braking when using one pedal driving. However when using the brake pedal Tesla doesn’t combine regen braking with the real brakes like other manufacturers do. It’s just the brakes without the regen braking.

I picked mine up Friday. Fit, trim and panels seem perfect. Only weird thing is having no instrument panel to light the space in front of you at night and as the parcel shelf is fixed and not retractable it gets in the way a bit. I don’t do many miles so I’m trickle charging it on a 3 pin plug at 7mph for now. On my tariff currently it will cost about £15 per tank for 300 miles ish.

You can set the regenerative braking to stop the vehicle or continue rolling like a traditional transmission. Most people have the car set to come to a complete stop and hold.

Great review! Wait until you live with one for a few months, then its really hard to go back to dinopower... For enthusiast cars I think i'll always prefer fire and explosions + mechanical interaction but for a daily commuter electric is the way!

I was only thinking about you and your channel yesterday and saw your new video pop up! Great to see your honest review of the Model Yp. My question would be family SUV is still the BMW X5 or Model Y ? I think I know your answer ;) Great to reconnect and watch another Episode as I was wondering what your channel name was called as its been a while :)

@TorturasFSG
@TorturasFSG 5 ай бұрын
@@ParagonCarsLondon Just to follow up on this in case it wasn't already explained - the reason it didn't come to a complete stop is due to how full the battery was (that's the green icon under the speedo which is there for a bit at the start) - as there is nowhere for the regenerated energy to go back into the battery for the first few % the regen is limited and you end up creeping forward slightly. Usually when you have about 90% battery or lower the regen works to a complete stop and hold.

Didn’t help that you had a huge suction cup stick to the middle of the screen showing up backup camera, also when you backed in you just went to where the rear of the door was opening parallel to the mirror of the other cars why would you back right back to be level with the other cars, it doesn’t show really how cramped it was as the door could open further if you weren’t beside the mirror,

I have a Model 3 Performance. It is nuts on day to day driving on public road. I see people in Audi R8, McLaren, C63, M4 etc in my rear view mirror. They tried. I can charge it at work for free or full charge at home for around £5 which i rarely do as when i arrive home from work i still have around 290 miles range.

I daily the Model 3 Performance which is on mountain pass performance coilovers and has the zero g wheels. My wife has the 2023 Model Y Performance which is more comfortable and roomy. We also have a manual BMW M3 with full Dinan suspension, intake, tune and exhaust and HRE wheels. We also have a Lexus GX with the V8. The Teslas are the cars that get used the most.

The range is not the issue it's finding a charging point and mainly the charging time. If you don't have a charger at home it's not that much cheaper than a diesel although no diesel can perform like that

Who allowed you to say anything nice about Tesla?! All other "journalists" repeat the same lines how poorly Tesla cars are made, bad interior, etc. How dare you? Who said you can think for yourself? On a serious note. My Model Y Performance appears to have similar build quality to my BMW 325xi. I had to take BMW to service to fix rattles few times but so far my Model Y is rattle free. I think BMW had more durable paint. Tesla paint feels softer more like a Japanese car.

Hi, good video overall. I would like to understand you opinion about the MYP brake capabilities. Could you perhaps do a test to compare these? there was a recent video done to compared this (its only one video, need more to get trend) and the Tesla MYP was compared to a Audi RS4 and it did extremely well in my opinion.
