I’m purchasing a 22 Tacoma TRD off road 6’ bed double cab automatic 3.5L, it’s my dream truck!! It has 29,000, white, towing pkg, 4X4, all those bells n whistles, just no leather or sunroof, which I’m glad!! Don’t like either, lol.

I had the choice of a 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab with the Premium and Technology plugs and a 6’ bed or an identical redesigned 24 with the 2.4L Turbo. I chose the 23 because of the proven reliability and durability of the Naturally Aspirated (NA) 3.5L V6 engine. Historically a Turbo simply doesn’t last as long as a NA engine. Our (my) will be the last pickup I’ll ever buy, as. I only drive 5-6K miles per year and at my age my Tacoma will outlast me.

They make this same truck TRD OFF ROAD with 4WD. The one you are testing must be one of the few that does not have 4WD. Maybe because you in Florida and people there do not need 4WD. I would say 99 out of 100 of these have 4 WD

Bought the Off-Road TRD 4x4 with 6 Speed Manual Trans, Led Fog & Headlights, Towing Package, + other Goodies on the truck in August 2022. Special order by a customer that was unable to complete delivery and I jumped on it the same day. Hard to find Manual Trans in these vehicles, better for towing & adventure. $38,900 + tax & title out the door. AutoNation, Pinellas Park, Florida. Love the Truck & The Ride

@@crusherman96 I payed 32,216 for my 2016 Inferno TRD Off Road spent a lot of money on modifications 4:88 gears ,4 inch BDS Lift kit, Valley Tune PCM update Fuel HOSTAGE WHEELS in 18X9, Stinger Receiver system, ECTon all the time power module. Truck only has 33,412 miles on it. Truck now f takes off like a rocket. The 6 speed trans isn't the problem it's the 3:90 factory gear. It should have came with 4:88's from the factory. The ECT on all the time makes the truck Rev nice.

I'm sorry. I just can't imagine Toyota would call a truck "Off Road" with only two wheel drive. Lock the back all you want. It shouldn't carry the badge of "Off Road". I don't mean to be offensive, but I can't imagine buying such a truck (especially when some trims cost as much as a real 4WD TRD Off Road). It looks like a capable machine, but it s not. by a used beater for the dump runs or buy a real truck that will have your back. The 4WD Off road will get you home.

The MSRP on my 23 TRD Off Road has the Premium and Technology pkgs, 6’ bed. It’s basically a Limited with the TRD Off Road pkg. The MSRP was $49, 848. I bought it for $48K.

Is it true, That nationwide as a dealer-installed option, the new lift kit provides a 2-inch front and 1-inch rear lift on most V6-powered 4x4 Tacoma models?????? Thank you. Just purchased a 2022.

Just got one last Saturday. The hill assist is horrible it doesn't stop you it rolls backwards while the traction controll light comes on and makes the crawl control sound

It’s really nice and rugged loved the V6 but it definitely needs a redesign especially the interior looks too outdated

That's the appeal of this truck. Some people like my like that old school interior. The 4Runner looks even older than this. I just think they should charge less for both vehicles.

That's actually really cheap for that truck. The MSRP on mine was $39k without the tech package and like $42k after a couple of dealer options. I ended up paying $35k ($34k for truck plus dealer options) for it in December 2020. Edit: it's a 21 TRD-OR. The dealer options were tinted windows, protective film on the hood and mirrors, and pinstripes down the sides which go really well with the 2 tone look imo. Edit again: disregard my last. Mine is a 4x4 and yours is a 4x2.

I had an F-250 HD 2wd, back in my high-school & college days. It got me through EVERYTHING! My F-250 never had a "sticker" that said "OFF ROAD"", and I never asked why! Maybe if that truck had a sticker that said "OFF ROAD", I would've needed a pilot's license.

have you ever owned a 4WD? The difference is unmatched. Wow. I have been with trucks who say they can contend with 4WD. It didn't turn out good for them.

Another example of why car dealerships are an unncecessary cost to consumers - "paint protection" and 2 oil changes for $700. You can buy your own paint sealant for under 50 and a couple oil changes are the same each. Dealers are worse than realtors. Oh and don't forget $3 led lamps for $209. Laughable.
