I bought the Roscoe 7 for my wife and she loves it. I have a Marlin 7 and would rather ride her Roscoe every time we ride. The Roscoes were a great concept.

I don't understand why Trek has multiple models that are so nearly identical. It just adds confusion to their catalog.

Bought my trek marlin 8 last week. It is a nice light weight starter mtn bike. I ola on taking in to bats mou tain in another month or 2 once I get more comfortable riding on it. I am an old 58 year old guy so this is the first mtn bike I have owned since I was 22 years old back in the mid 80's when I owned a mongoose mtn bike.

Good video! I bought the Marlin a week ago and already tested it on different surfaces. I'm surprised for good how much the components make a Marlin a really good option for "enthusiasts". Maybe the only downside is the straight steer, but that's when you want to use this bike as an starting point for building something higher, which if you're aiming for a bike to do that, you probably will go with another model. The bike as it comes, it's good for XC. Also with the bucks you save if you go for a Marlin, you can do the tubeless and MAYBE if you're lucky, do a brakes upgrade. Edit: typo

What size did you get? I'm looking for M or ML I'm 5'9 inseam 31, they say maybe get it by Jan 2022. Any info is appreciated thanks. Ride 4 Life....

@@pablogarza4793 Hey, using a converter that would be like 1.79 - 1.80mt? in that case i recommend you the M-L ... I bought M (i'm 1.74mt, like 5.7ft, but kinda short arms hahaha). To consider, the M seatpost is 300mm, and the M-L and higher sizes are 400mm. That could help with the correct setup. In my case, i changed the seatpost because i needed like 3 more cms.

Could you please confirm the compatibility of Marlin 8 with dropper post? Because their website does not mention it.
@87456hondanorth3 жыл бұрын
There is none. 2019 Marlin has provision for an internal dropper post but for whatever reason, this was deleted from the 2020 model onwards including the 2022 Marlin 8. You'd need to run an external. Hence I went for a 2021 Roscoe 7. Excaliber has provision for an internal dropper too. There's a youtube video by a Trek employee confirming this for the Marlin 8 model. Dealbreaker for me

I am undecided between a Marlin 8 nd an X-Caliber 9 2022.. .is the X-Caliber worth the money difference for recreational use? thanks

So you chose the winner based on tires?? 🤷🏻♂️ I’d rather have boost than quick release any day of the week. Tires can easily be swapped out, out dated spec can’t.
@CyclingWithSully3 жыл бұрын
I thought the same as well but the what Trek calls "boost" is just boost quick release not a boost thru axle.
@neilmartin69893 жыл бұрын
@@CyclingWithSully to be honest these days, bikes even at that price range should have thru axle. Industry standards are moving that way and think it’s a bit irresponsible for Bike Manufacturers to spec quick release when it’s on its way out.
