This man is the undisputed Master of Acoustic Guitar. Every generation produces an individual who rises to the top completely naturally. The God given musical gift shines effortlessly bringing joy, inspiration, awe. Tom Emmanuel is one of these, he seems so humble too.

I had the pleasure of seeing him at the Glastonbury Festival (England) in 2015 and was spellbound like everyone else in the audience. After the gig, he came out front to sign guitars, be in selfies etc and I had the pleasure of speaking to him for a couple of minutes. What an incredibly humble and down-to-earth man he is. Like all home players who have ever seen him, I did wonder if I had been wasting my time for 30 odd years since this man is light years ahead of just about everyone else on the planet but we are so lucky to have him.

I had the honor of playing with him almost 25 years ago at a pub gig he did - asked if anyone played and all my so-called friends pointed to me. When I got up he asked what I wanted to play - I played the intro to Dueling Banjos... BIG mistake (it was all I could think of)... Needless to say he wiped the floor with me and I've never been so happy....

There are guitarists that are so far ahead of where I am, that I feel like giving up. But Tommy, though so amazing, communicates such a love for the tunes (which he calls songs) that he encourages me to step just a little bit further.

And take it from someone who has been to two of his guitar camps including the one you were looking at now. Tommy would tell you never ever ever to give up! And I absolutely agree with him and glad that I have stuck to it and worked so hard at playing during the past several years

I can understand the feeling of "well I'll just burn my guitar right now!" and we all kid like that. Tommy brings you back to the love of the music. Remember, while you may not be world-class right now you do have fun otherwise you would have stopped long ago. And you make progress all the time, provided you keep working at it. I've been to now 7 camps. A few years before the first camp I discovered Tommy (yes the Classical Gas video) and was intrigued, to say the least. I had been playing for like 35 years before that but I mostly played rock, heavy metal, progressive, and top forty. Always saw fingerstyle like classical guitar and didn't think I could easily get into it. But I loved Tommy Songs so I learned a few. Slowly I got better and kept improving things like a thumb over the neck and wide stretched chords. We forget that learning guitar is a slow process, one that takes years, but one that can be conquered with the appropriate amount of practice. Practice, practice, practice. Learn, learn, learn. Perform, jam with others, and have fun. And if you ever wish to be reminded of how far you've already come, just flip the guitar to a lefty position and try to play something - anything! Remember, that's what you were like when you started. And look at where you are now! And remember, as the Tommy Song goes, It's Never Too Late!

Cole Clarks sound dead unless plugged in, then they sound great, as good as a Maton but easier to play. A Maton, like a good Strat, fights you a bit, but if you can win the battle, it rewards you in spades! It's not for pu$$y's lol
