THEORY TIME I think this trip is where Cxs (and possibly Lu Guang) obtained his ability. Because they start the photo business after they get back. Now this cutscene is probably before the trip. And hopefully s3 will talk about this mysterious trip they took and we learn about Hat guy abilities which probably has to do with the future. I wanna hear more of your theories!

@ljeans531 oh yeah that can be. So then LG has to create the timeline as the original timeline where the original power holder dies and so that power jumps to CX. Then after CX dies in LG hands he can go back to the beginning with that power and save CX.

@omindivinoja8203 Yes, especially because there is no mention of the ability in cxs childhood flashbacks but in S1 they both seem to have had it for some period of time. Yet Lu Guang does seem more experienced. It's possible that Lu Guang had his ability, met cxs and then on the trip is when everything goes down.

If we assume like that, LG has to let the original power holder die so that CX can have that power, then he lead CX to use their powers together and start a photoshop and make everything happened in the past, happen in this timeline too. So in the future he can go back after LG dies in his hands. LG has to turn a blind eye to every death, happened until now to save CX. Damn he's going for extreme lengths to save CX. These 2 deserve to be together man 😭 though I still can't figure out when Liu Min's brother came into this mess

Sameee, I wanna know what his own family was like! We know Cheng Xiaoshi's parents sadly abandoned him (or... disappeared?) but we don't know about Lu Guang's parents. I get the impression though that he wasn't very close to his family (or is an orphan also) because we never really see him talking to or messaging them and he doesn't really talk much about them either. It could just be that his relationship with them isn't very remarkable, so they just choose not to show it, but idk given the emphasis this show has put on family and parental bonds I somehow doubt that's the case. Plus the way he acts just kind of screams parental neglect to me, the way he is often very quiet and doesn't seem to exhibit as much emotion. He seems very independent too (though not always in a good way) and often gets flustered when someone points out how he truly feels lol (like when Qiao Ling inadvertently told Cheng Xiaoshi the reason Lu Guang gave for befriending him and in the Shorts when she says that Lu Guang told her he sleeps on the top bunk because he's worried about Xiaoshi falling).

I AM SO EXCITED! Given the short time between the end of of season 2 and what will probably be the release time of this new content, I'm guessing this will be something like a 40-60 minute movie of, as mentioned by many, a past event, which will give us more context for season 3. Thank you so much to Mr. Li Haoling, LAN Studio and Haoliners Animation League!!! The story is engaging, the characters have well-written personalities, the artwork's style is amazing and the music is phenomenal!!! I think if this is a trailer for a flash back episode or something. That this is during their overseas trip 3 years before the show (where they both possibly got their powers). I bet that hot model guy is the first person Cheng Xiaoshi every dived into. This may be the first case the two of them ever had. Maybe Cheng Xiaoshi mistakenly ends up as the model guy which is when they figure out how to use their powers and they realize there is something up with that dude or someone else around him. Or they must keep the time stream the same or something.
