China's CATL & BYD are now starting to mass produce Sodium Ion batteries for EVs which is just as good as the way more expensive Lithium Ion batteries. When more EV manufacturers transition from Lithium Ion to Sodium Ion batteries ( which are also far less prone to catching fire) , the costs of EVs with stellar performance will become a reality to more people and not just to the affluent of society, as Sodium is 1,000 times more abundantly available and is far less expensive than what Lithium mining currently costs. we've been hearing about revolutionary batteries right around the corner ever since the advent of EVs, so forgive me if i think it might be a little while longer. When significantly better batteries show up in the market, they will (despite low production costs) be expensive - simply because they are better and therefore they can charge a higher price for them. Eventually it will come down, but i think we're still looking 5-10 years(perhaps more) into the future before the new generation of batteries are widespread.

Strange that when describing the roofline, you referred to the BMW 4-Series, but not Audi's own A7 and A5 Sportback models.

Great review Sir Vince, keep putting tape measures to trunks. People need to know what they are getting into and litres doesnt tell anyone anything. Also please emphasize the fact you dont get a spare wheel in electric cars and some hybrids because of the battery or motor placement. Then again, people who buy this car dont have such pedestrian concerns like the ones i mentioned.
