Taking a Triple and Quadruple Bogey and still finishing under par for the round is the most Aaron Gossage thing I’ve ever seen

I really enjoy hearing the rules conversations. It gives a little more insight into what happens in these tournaments for someone who hasn't played in anything official. I also absolutely love Ricky's commentary! He is (obviously) so knowledgeable about the game, and called it all so well.

Gossage going +3 and +4 and still under par is definitely a gossage thing to do, and AB drilling the pole has gotta be the funniest thing I’ve seen on coverage

Rules conversation coverage: DEFINITE YES. I have a hard time hearing people complain that those kinds of issues are due to TD’s not being explicit enough in their handbooks. It’s IMPOSSIBLE for TD’s to prepare for any and all eventualities, so sometimes these levels of “nit-picky rule interpretation” may seem unnecessary, but are quite the opposite. Side note, I have enjoyed me some Opera Man when I’ve visited Vista from up here in Utah!
@ChayseGrizzell9 ай бұрын
Yeah. I typically lean towards benefiting the player unless it's obvious.. I only call them out if they are beating me. JK. Imagine if Goose made a high percentage of his 1st putts.. he'd be like -100.

The rules conversations are an awesome addition to your videos. It not only provides wonderful insight to how a shot unfolded, but provides a lesson to those that may be unfamiliar to the rules. Another great thing that these rules conversations can provide is potentially preventing ambiguity. If someone is planning on throwing a local c-tier or whatever tournament, your videos are providing insight on potential problems a, for instance for this setting, a makeshift course may have and how they can apply that to their local course. Conversations like these show it doesn’t hurt to go the extra mile by being thorough with course rules, OR drawing a simple line where a structure isn’t defining enough. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that this TD didn’t go the extra mile, this event looks awesome and makes me want to come out for it.
@mad4disk9 ай бұрын
AbsoLUTEly we should be hearing those conversations! Its 100% a part of the game and also part of how we, as rank amateurs, learn how to handle those situations. Keep it going !

I like the rules convo but didn’t understand what Gossage was saying about the edge. A camera view backward or an explanation of his explanation would have been good. But maybe I missed it? More of this either way since these moments are when post production commentary can be used to educate

I want it all! Serious game talk, silly asides to the cameras, zoom in on nature, something strange happening - let’s see that stuff! This is what separates our sport from others, and I think we should encourage and celebrate the differences.

It’s kind of crazy watching players run putts and do other things they wouldn’t normally do in bigger tournaments on tour and what not. I would think learning to win and play situational golf at these types of tournaments would go a long way when or if you find yourself near the top on tour. 🤔🤷🏻♂️
