I love it so much but I really do wish they did a euphonium instead of a trombone. I think it would have sounded a little nicer and cleaner. Flug knocked it out of the park though.

I think that’s the whole point of having the trombone, is to add a little bit of edge while still sounding really good. And he sounded really good on finals night

That's a good idea! I think the trombone fits closest to the voice of Bon Iver and maybe that's what the show designers were going for. Would have been interesting to hear a euph do the solo.
