2023 brimstone trip with our Polaris xpedition Northstar and RzR,X3, Ranger, Defender limited 4k

The xpedition road excellent on the trails. From a trail perspective running 20 to 30 mph it’s so smooth compared to a ranger or defender. We talk about it some as we ride with others. The machine is truly impressive. we didn’t take any red trails as I’ve got my children with me and I was not going to risk getting them hurt or stranded, although on the blue trail, a rzr had flipped the day before on that same trail and the xpedition took it very easy. We are completely stock at this point besides rock sliders. The rock sliders held up extremely well. I rubbed them several times across to rain and hit rocks. They are hardly even scratched.. I’ve also installed a hunter Work belt and I’ve had zero issues.
It cost $33 after tax to ride for one day at brimstone and gets cheaper as you add more days or a year pass.
We stayed at trail and cabins.

FYI. The reason ride command does not have Brimstone trails color coded is because the Owner of Brimstone wanted them to pay for the map. All other parks have theirs for free. Cool video. Is the Expedition worth it?

Thanks for info. I figured it was something like that. It depends on your needs and money at hand. It’s by far the best cab trail machine out. But if you want to spend less money put a set of 32s on a defender limited and just go slower on the trails. I would buy it again if that helps

What did you think of the Xpedition? I heard you made a a comment about the hunterworks belt as well

After this trip I like the xpedtion more than I thought. If you want a performance SxS with cab it’s the best. Held the trail well and is geared perfect for anything we did. The hunter works belt seemed great. I think it may have less noise in low also. But I don’t want to sell anyone on it yet. I’d like a few hundred miles on it before that.

I wish i could have come last Saturday and brought my ranger northstar. It looked like perfect weather and you all had a great time. Sounded like around 9 minutes in video you and tgevwife asked about me. I got busy with chores around the house and hated i missed such a great ride.

Did you drive the whole time in low range and were you able to do it in 2 wheel drive ? Next year I plan on getting one of these and so I really like to see how it’s working for you in your videos ! Keep them coming ! 👍

We drove in high 90% of the time. You only need low if you’re running below 10 mph. We did most in 2wd rear locked. They perform extremely well.

Love that your boy is playing with an Optimus prime as I had one when I was a child and the trailer folded down into an airstrip I always practiced backing the trailer up into a parking spot/loading bay

Hey Drake, thanks for the great videos and keep 'em coming! I finally got to take an Xpedition for a short test ride today. Very impressed especially with the ride. Although it was an ADV 5 Ultimate I'm planning on getting an XP5 Northstar. I was wondering if you had the clutch kit installed for noise? Also, not that I will be drag racing anyone with it, but what's the top speed on yours? Have you noticed any heat issues in the backseat area? I'm not sure yet if I'm going to buy now or wait until the next year's models come out. Just in case they fix any bugs/issues they may have now. Thanks again for the vids and reviews.

Hey Larry We truly enjoy our xpedition and think it’s the best hvac unit out by far. My dealer told me about the clutch kit the day of release, but I’m leery of installing it as I haven’t been able to test the unit with one in it yet. Everyone I’ve talk to says you lose horsepower over the range. I guess you wouldn’t say horsepower but how the power is delivered. I currently really enjoy the power delivery of my factory clutch. However, I have seen success with lowering RPM hence making less noise. my top speed is about 70mph. You do get a little more heat in the backseat but nothing so far that the air condition couldn’t keep up with. I would be truly surprised if they changed very much on the 2025 as there is no competition for it currently. Glad you enjoyed the channel buddy

Yes it’s a lot of money but if you use it and it brings you joy it’s money well spent. Not liking the screen glitch and the lack of front and rear cameras for that price. Definitely my next big purchase though.

I think you’re referencing my xpedition? If so it’s expensive but I’d buy it again. Really nothing else to compete with it in the market. It does have front and rear cameras and I updated my screen so far no glitches.

I’ve always wanted to ride those places. It’s just extreme hard to want travel that far when we have so many places local to ride. In the back of my head, I always second-guess it knowing I can get out there and break something and be so far from home. 🙃 I always take my whole family when I go so it’s a big deal preparing for a trip like that. Two weeks ago a couple of my friends went to South Dakota to ride. Think it’s called Black hills. One of them had a brand new ram truck And it broke down first day. Then one machine tore up the second day. They ended up riding two days out of a week long trip.

It’s best to mix in other things and just make riding a fun part of the overall trip. We have Zion National Park, Lake Powell, Lake Mead, Bryce Canyon and much more. There are also tons of places to rent machines.

Happy Wednesday to you and your family buddy. I woke up to snow covered grass but not my driveway or roads. It has melted now. I enjoyed your trail riding. I couldn’t hear your wife or Wells very good with the noise. I heard Willow singing a little bit but other than that, I enjoyed it and I’m very jealous but happy that you and the family got to take the expedition on trials. Good evening buddy! we could’ve went riding at a better time than we did down at Brimstone. Weather was perfect. Now it’s been in the 20s every morning no snow yet but it’s coming. 🙃 We may just plan a trip to Michigan. I think there’s another guy on here from there also. My biggest demographic of people watching my channel is New York. Willow and Wells had a blast on the trail both end up falling asleep though as you seen . I’ve got some family wanting to go out west in early spring to Black Mountain .

My wife and I have been to royal blue and it was a blast. We did serval trips in the winter it had lots of rain and no dust but beautiful we still miss it.
