2023 C8 Z06 VIR track review the non Z07 package car was able to run 2.01 lap time with Marko driving it after 3 sessions. Ran it on track with the 2019 C7 ZR1

Just took delivery of my C8Z coupe, non Z07. This video makes me SO glad I didn’t spend the extra 20 grand on Z07 aero, ceramic brakes, Cup 2R, etc. Totally unnecessary. The level of grip and speeds you have demonstrated on the C8Z is astounding. Well done, cannot wait for the snow to melt around here😀. Thanks for posting the best track video of the C8 Z06 ever!

I think vette titans has proved the Z07 package is a waste of money. Most of us trackers won’t get better performance out of carbon brakes. All you do is worry about the price of a replacement rotor. The steel brakes on a C8 or a Porsche GT3 are far and above what we need

I won't be tracking but went with htc and ceramic brakes non z07, only a few more weeks yet. The high wing just has too much drag anyway

This video does a good job at telling where the C8 Z06 makes up time on Zr1, and the Zr1 kinda pulls away. With the wider tires and mid engine layout the C8 really close the gap in the corners, but on the straights due to the Zr1’s more aerodynamic body and having much more power it starts to pull away. Both are amazing cars and are arguably GM’s best cars

That's not the car making up time, it's the driver. That zr1 is nowhere near a representative lap of that car...

This is a perfect example of track days and the difference of drivers, etc. One simply has no idea just how hard the ZR1 driver is pushing it. The fact is, the ZR1 can go much faster than it did here, as can the Z06 and the ZL1. So it’s difficult to say that one is “better” from this. Here’s a video of a guy running a 1:55 in a ZR1. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmOteWeDrK2Ze5I Search ZL1 1LE and there’s a guy running a 1:58.7 stock. All I know is all these cars are ridiculously fast track cars.

Bajeezus that Z06 sounds orgasmic. Sounds even better than current gen F1 cars. A few more rpm’s and it’d be mimicking the Formula V8’s we miss so dearly.

My point-by on base Z51 car will need to be half-a-mile away from now! I'm only doing 2:06 first time ever there on all-stock Z51, that 2:01 is next level. Hats off to you sir!

Nice video, thanks for sharing. Was the C7 ZR1 on MPSS? The driver of the C8 Z06 seemed very comfortable closing the gap under braking relative to the C7 ZR1.
