My father just bought one of these (they just came to Canada) and he absolutely adores it. The perfect little bike for him. Quick, nimble, and easy to ride. I found it a touch gutless but he is very happy with it.

Can't believe Honda took so long to import it to SA, great bike for your riding conditions, great value too. They sell heaps of them in Oz. At least you get the updated models.

Hey Don, Here's an idea for future content - how about reviewing quirky bikes? My favourite quirky is the Buell XB 9R. It has the fuel in the frame, oil sump in the swingarm, front brake disc on the rim, and many other wacky but clever ideas. Webuycars have one on sale for a mere R25k - perhaps they'd lend it to you.

Will you ever do a video on the absurd pricing of the Transalp in south Africa? Perhaps a comparison between the Transalp and the V-Strom 800DE? It's a story that needs to be told, but at what cost to a channel that needs to have a good relationship with Honda?

Just wish that 471cc parallel twin wasn't such a bland tractor engine. If Honda would have succeeded in making a true 500cc version of a 270° MT-07 engine, perfect. Also, when is Kawasaki going to give the world a Versys X 400?

I really don’t think ‘on the cheap’ is the correct vocabulary to use as the 500X is a quality product with no signs of cutting any corners.

I've got a 23 cb500x and there's definitely little things they have skimped on especially when the bikes nearly 7k for a 500cc...but its a bloody good versatile bike but 7k is a good chunk of cash.
