2023 Checkup on the Dover Elevator at the US Bank in Webster Groves

(February 2023) It has been about a year since I checked up on this rather famous Dover elevator. Let's see how this elevator is doing in 2023.

When you started the video, I expected you to need to walk down a floor to get on the elevator. The fact that it opened up on the top floor is already a win in my book. Imagine if some electronic cleaner would solve the decade long controller issues.

It sounds like the pump tries to start when the car is going down. Could be something stupid like a bad centrifugal start switch causing the start capacitor to fire at the wrong time.

I think it's to admit that rather than hope it'll magically run like new again with repairs and instead pray that this elevator is put of its misery ASAP via modernization

It did this to me last summer, I've lost hope that they will ever fix this thing. I bet it's just a couple bad relays or sensors that's causing the whole thing.
