So far I’ve maintained 16.5 to 17 mpg in the city. No changes at all, I’ll update in about a week..

Excellent video! Those metal tabs were no fun. When I was removing the air dam on my Trail Boss I was able to get one popped out...Then I just decided to cut the plastic hoops on the air dam instead...*laughs* That sped the process up a lot! I put the gm skid plates on afterwards though, so I didn't mind trashing out my air dam.

Took my air dam off today. I had a hard time with the clips, so I ended up just cutting the tabs, super easy!!!! You can have the air dam off in 2 minutes. Just remove all 12 bolts, pull down a little where you can see the tabs and take a utility knife and cut the tabs. After you cut the tabs and take the air dam off, just run your finger above where the clips were and slide them out. It makes this mod super easy and fast.

I couldn’t figure out how to get mine off. It was the damn hidden metal clips. 😂😂😂 Thanks for the video. I used a long thin screwdriver to get behind the clip and popped them out toward the back of the truck.

I removed mine as well and it was a slight pain to do so free style, but I didn't notice much of a difference if at all mpg. I do a mix of city and highway generally less that 80 mph. May not notice much unless you do long drives at high speeds

Makes it a lot easier to remove front lower half of wheel well liner(T15 Torx) and 2 push in retaining clips, maybe another 5mins of work. A lot better than going blind and damaging stuff. Once you pull the liner back you can see the metal clips. Push down on the top spring loaded part and while holding it down slide the clip back. No need to cut and break anything.

I never made any cuts, I just popped everything out. Pretty easy process without taking a lot of time to get wrenches and what not out.

Great video on how to remove. How easy to put back on ?? I’m assuming not that easy 😬. I like the looks removed and not removed. Be more of a mall crawler for me in Minnesota. Love to run the air dam in the summer for better MPG and remove it for the winter for that off road look and dealing with going over potential snow wind rows

Thank you, to be honest with you you’re not going to get a mpg difference, maybe one if you’re lucky. As long as you retain the retention clips, you can put it back on.

Better clearance off-road, I personally think it’s ugly and makes zero difference with MPG

7:17 - It looks like a filter or something is now exposed? Did you put anything on to cover that or is it not a big deal? I'm considering doing the same to my '24 LT and want to make sure I don't regret it. I'm not a car/truck savvy person so take it easy on me haha.

no, there are no filters that are exposed, this is a very common thing to do with the Colorado’s, you can unclip those clips and reinstall it anytime you want

There is absolutely no difference and I have been through the mountains and hundreds and hundreds of miles. It is perfectly OK to take it off.

You would want to remove the air dam to put your hooks on. The hooks go into the subframe
