2023 Chevy Colorado Work Truck 4x4 Turbo Plus | Best Midsize Work Truck?

The 2023 Chevy Colorado W/T (Work Truck) is the most affordable Colorado you can buy. This one is finished in Summit White with the 4x4 and Turbo Plus engine which means it is able to tow the max 7,700 lbs and can be upgraded to high output at a later date if desired. With the Turbo Plus and tow package, this does force a few additional options on this trim but overall I believe this spec of work truck is very good for someone who wants a few additional amenities while still remaining capable and affordable.

Huh... Bought a '23 WT 4WD off the lot on June 30th, equipped as this one, except the vinyl floor but no auto locking rear diff listed on the sticker, so not sure about that. Even has the spray in liner. Plus mine is White as well. The rear vents work very well at 100 as a friend can attest. Absolutely love it!🥰

Yeah that 5 ft bed wouldn’t cut it. If they had a long bed option to where it’s usable to make a run to the hardware store, seed & feed, the dump, moving furniture, etc. it would be nice. Not everyone wants/needs a full size pickup. Plus cruise control isn’t even standard.

Most of the time these vehicles make businesses or individuals money and it can be in their best interest to purchase for tax reasons. This truck is over $5k more than the base MSRP so it is possible to get these trucks for less.

I would definitely buy this WT 4x4 over a more expensive luxurious LT two wheel drive ! I payed 41,200 for my Trail Boss, I saw this week they got a radiant red two wheel drive, for 41,100,, I couldn’t believe how much they marked that truck up and it’s two wheel drive,,,so yea I’d take that WT 4x4 over a more expensive two wheel dr LT

I just ordered the WT, it was recently accepted by GM. One of the options I ordered was the spray on bed liner, is there still an issue with that? If so, will the dealer contact me to make a change if it will delay building it?

I would reach out to them occasionally and make sure that isn't holding up production of your truck. It may likely still be a constraint over time but hopefully they can build more will them.

How do you get the vinyl floor option? I can't seem to find it on the Internet. It's the entire floor and not just mats, right?

Yes. It may only be available on W/T. It should be a $50 difference. Your local dealer should be able to help unless they removed the option for 2024.

Question, the Colorado WT trim, if one is ordered/purchased with the Turbo Plus engine can you get the High Output upgrade on that trim? I’m hearing a lot of different answers. If you can, can you do it before taking delivery or is there a break in period before adding the software upgrade?

Yes! You can get the HO tune for any Colorado with the Turbo Plus engine (L3B). I don't know exactly if there is a restriction as to when it can be performed but it shouldn't hurt waiting until after break in.

I don't have the information off of the door sticker but according to Chevy's documents this configuration should yield the highest of around 1,700 lbs.

@@CarsMadeSimple I am always surprised at how low “real world” payload on the sticker compares to a manufacturer’s “advertised” max payload on their website. I realize the payload is specific to that truck, but I always like to hear, anecdotal, real world payload. 1,700 lbs of payload is impressive for a midsize truck. I have seen $70K Ram 1500 Limiteds with less than a 1,000 lbs of payload. I think payload is too often overlooked. Most trucks will run out of payload capacity before tow capacity. Yes, you should be able to add a trailer hitch and wiring. Just remember you won't get some of the other features that comes with the advanced trailering package. Also note, the max towing may be reduced (if not equipped with the limited slip diff).

Funny thing... The hand operated brake levers/pedals and electric brakes are "parking" brakes and (according to the owner's manual) there is an "emergency function" with the electrically applied systems. But really, when was the last time you heard of sudden catastrophic brake failure without any warning?
