The fact that he was asking where he finished and if the car would be ready for Saturday… racer’s mentality right there!! Kid’s a tough- and very lucky- cookie.

How will safety improve if they suppress the videos? They should be showing every angle and every frame. I can understand not showing it without a update to his condition, but thats no longer a issue. What are they hiding?
@Commander-McBragg2 жыл бұрын
The insurance companies are watching. Media has long claimed that they cut footage for privacy of the driver. Another reason is that the insurance companies watch for freak stuff like this to cover their butts. The people who put on this race know that they will have questions to answer and may face higher premiums. It is an embarrassment, like getting caught with your pants down. In this case, though, it’s on the driver and his team.

yours and some of the other comments are sad, there are plenty of videos on youtube where you freaks post videos of people being injured or killed without the tracks doing it for your pleasure. what reason do you have for wanting to see this young man thrown from his car. and just read the other comments, everyone is an expert and knows exactly how and why it happened. think back, a safety parts manufacturer lost his business and was sued when dale sr was killed even though it was proven the belts did not fail. you people just need to drink your beer and jack off somewhere else.

This wasn't anybody's fault. He was unlucky by one of his belts getting caught on the main latch when we flipped and ended up unlatching his harness.

Its a shame you didn't show the rest of the crash, as this view would've shown how well every single driver behind him did at coming to a complete stop. Drone footage showed most of the back straight coming to a halt before his car did. And there is no way the officials would've had to time to call red over the radios any more than once. They all saw the incident and hauled those vehicles in so officials could get to him. They all deserve a massive round of applause.

I was there. The crash was ugly. In fact we all thought we witnessed a fatality. But you're right- these are some of the best drivers and officials in the business and it showed.

@@goat6467 the Chili Bowl is making money hand over fist with that many cars selling out the stands and not to mention the percentage of money from TV. Sponsors like Lucas is footing all the money for purse then some their paying out purses from the 80's it's 2023 people are paying more that what they would win just to show up and put on a show. Umm did he live I guessing so and I'm glad they covered that kid up for privacy if he was a minor then good for the medical staff and track officials for doing that I'll have to find the crash video. Racing is a tough sport sometimes and ppl do get hurt and killed every year racing but it's that risk we take every time we strap ourself into that car knowing that it could be my last race ever and I could not climb back out of this car alive and before I get to the track I remember that and that's what keeps me humble and smart on the track and I have only totaled one racecar out in the 15 years I raced and it wasn't my fault at all, racing is dangerous but way less dangerous then any other sport you can participate in especially less dangerous then playing football for your kids,
