I love this. I like to cook when I camp and the stove/oven is perfect and hard to find in small trailers! There are three things I would change, 1) door on the shower/bathroom is a must. 2) the entry closet needs a larger door & should include a rod for clothing. 3) The kitchen counter needs a flip up flush extension. Are the benches long enough to use them as a single bed? Otherwise, this is perfect, IMHO.
@MillersRV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. As to your changes: The original version had a door for the bathroom but the size door for the space was pretty tight. Having seen it both ways, I prefer the easier access and space of the curtain in exchange of a little less separation. I'm not sure you can get much larger door to fit but the closet rod shouldn't be a problem. I'll pass along the flip up extension comment.

Great to see another fiberglass option in the market. Not sure I like open bath concept and the dinette with one seat is odd. Really like 12V fridge and windows and while not sure I’d use it good to see oven as well. I do have an Oliver and there is nothing like fiberglass. Website shows truck camper as future model- hope that is true.
@MillersRV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments. I think the bath has grown on me vs the original marine door option that Cortes used. Definitely understand the question about the dinette. Currently we see a folding chair as an option that allows the space in front of the door to be used for the second seat. I'm not sure what I'd be willing to give up to make room for a second built in seat.
@lolawants2008 Жыл бұрын
@@MillersRV can you pls tell me ballpark price of a model like this with these options? But also I don’t understand the built in dinette.. seems like they put so much thought into versatility, then plopped an odd immovable single use thing ppl may or may not like, right in the doorway, I’d rather use that space for a full pantry. Could have a drop down table from the pantry door, & we figure out our own seating.. there is already seating at the larger table… incidentally I’m in the camp I think where I’d prefer a bed that just stays a bed, with storage underneath & a pull out table top, storage benches either side that serve as chairs, storage, & a place to set more stuff when needed while not feeling cluttered. Even still- these are very intriguing.

I love the battery setup but otherwise it is no better than the Casita I have had for 6 years. If I were to buy a similar sized trailer again (if my Casita EVER wears out) I would get an Oliver Elite 1 which appears to be very well built. That said both it and this Cortes look like autopsy rooms and you can hear the echo in of the presenter's voice from the smooth walls. My Casita is very quiet. All are quite nice campers.

@@MillersRV Hmmm. Interesting. Though I'm confused as to how the door reduces the space. It's not like people will use the doorway to shower in. And if it's an issue having the door swing out, maybe try a sliding door or an accordion door? I dunno, if they seem okay suggesting customers use a folding chair at the small dinette (which definitely takes up space) surely they could have made a door work. I think this trailer is amazing all around but the missing bathroom door is a big head scratcher to me. It's such a big oversight for an otherwise stellar job on a version 1 trailer.

I am impressed with what they have done here, in a sense it's a more modern Scamp or Casita. That said, the lack of a true bathroom door is a major fail and the single seat dinette with no access underneath sucks hard. I love the complete fiberglass construction, marine grade latches, doors, compartments, etc., and the window choice is a breath of fresh air, huge win there. The following is an opinion I posted on EP after walking through this trailer. This trailer is by no means as well built as an Oliver but an Oliver is 60+K right? I assume the Oliver does use wood in thier build which is likely why it's 1,000 lbs heavier. So Cortes has that over the Oliver. Not to be to critical but when rv sales guys call small trailers a "couch " it sounds " used car salesmen ie " to me but I am wierd. My post: Well looks like the Cortes did make it to market. I walked through one at a dealer in TX I will say it has kind of a cool vibe about it. It is smaller and a pavement princess for sure. It does have timbrens but I do not believe they are the 3500HD. Ground clearance is very low. It was listed on thier website that it has an aluminum chassis last year but it looks like that changed to steel to me. If your in this market for 48k I would probably also look at a Castila or escape. Thier website says its under 8 feet tall with out ac. It does have drop 4 timbrens so that's possible but I did not measure so verify that if you want to garage at 8ft. 4 season capable I would do a deep dive into that. If you can verify these specs and need to garage and want 4 season capability and only have 3,500 pound towing capacity this maybe worth a look
@MillersRV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bart, thanks for your comments. If there are specific questions you'd like me to find our please let me know. One clarification is that they did switch to a steel frame. The supply of aluminum chassis was definitely hindering production and the weight savings was close enough that they felt it was worth the switch. I can check on the specific model of timbres if you'd like.

Hi Dean, we try to keep pricing off the KZbin videos because they stay relevant longer than the price does. However we keep current prices on our website - millersrv.com. Here is the link to that specific unit with a current price. millersrv.com/inventory/travel+trailers/2022-cortes+campers-17-ft+travel+trailer+-+single+axle-baton+rouge-la-633330ae130e593737011a92/

If they posted the price in the review, then people would not go to their website, which they want you do to. Sort of like when you look at a catalog, and under the price, it says "CALL". If they post the price they will run people off.

Can you get a cassette toilet and get rid of the black tank

That isn't an option at this point.

It's a shame no solar panels on the roof or charging the batteries as you drive along ..I reckon the batteries won't last long eg a week off grid. How much water does it hold for showers etc
@MillersRV2 жыл бұрын
While you are driving the alternator will add far more than a solar package will. The reason not to make it standard is that many customers still use a trailer in a traditional setting and solar doesn't benefit them. For customers interested in solar, lithium or other off the grid packages we have several upgrade options available for you!

Price??? Weight??? It’s very helpful to know these things…..the trailer is no good if it weighs more than my vehicle con tow….or if it’s out of my price range

With the size and curved wall of this unit it doesn't work well with a traditional awning. We do have a couple options that are lightweight and easy to set up. Reach out to us at sales@miller's RV or call/text 225-275-2940.
