Very fun! I’m excited to see your progress on your family pieces. And I’m glad you’re sticking with the Castle Homecoming Club! I’m glad your hubby likes it - that’s great motivation to work on stuff. 😁 I just went through all my PK WIPs today and updated my stitch counts & percentages. The percentages are interesting, but my favorite way to sort them is by “stitches remaining”. That’s the true test of which projects are the closest to being finished, since the size of project and size of fabric can affect our perception of how much is left. That helps me narrow down what to focus on next. 👍🏻

So true! I didn’t realize that until I figured out how many stitches were remaining on Malificent! It does help that Chris loves the castle homecoming, he is always asking to see it. I figure I’ll work on it during our video call next week and any extra days at the end of the month depending on what has a “deadline” Happy New Year! 🎆 💕❤️

Ninety-nine wip's. Wow. You really accomplished a lot. It's nice you're doing that cross stitch for your friend with cancer. I hope she is okay too. I have been treated for stage 4 colon cancer. I was okay for a while, but it has come back in my lungs. I am going through chemotherapy again. My third one is this coming week on the third. I also fractured my left wrist about a month ago. It hasn't been easy. I'm thank Heaven for my family and friends who help me get through. I know your friend appreciates you. I will be praying and for you both. I am doing good.

I pray that you continue to heal and continue to feel the arms of your friends and family wrapped around you. I feel humbled especially when my physical issues are so minor. Thank you for thinking of my friend too. She has bile duct cancer, so far it hasn’t spread. We spent some time together last July and I hope to see her again in February. My thoughts will be on your battle too while I stitch this piece. 💕💕💕

Seeing your finishes is like saying 'hi' to a friend you haven't seen in a while! I am doing the 'Birdhouses SAL' in the hope that I'll be able to make it to the Stitch West retreat this year. And we have that Kathy Barrick "Day Complete" in common as a finish last year too! I have the 'Quaker Bees' on my "Future projects list" and I absolutely love that fabric. I agree with you the mystery SALs are terrible if you fall behind. I have a very checkered past with SALs/Knit ALongs/Mystery quilts. I can't say I have NEVER finished one and looked back and said 'I would do this knowing how it turned out', but there have been a LOT of them where it was only a success in that I had a finished project (that I didn't love). So I wait to purchase until right at the end, or for the free ones, I print the clues, but don't start until I know what it's going to look like in full. Thanks for the deep dive into your planning process. I've been tracking everything on a spreadsheet and finishes in my blog (very old school, I know). I do like everybody's pretty stickers in their 'book of days'. So glad to be able to follow along this year, may it be a year of blessings for us all.

I what a great thing to see first thing on my birthday… got up and when started stitching I started watching you, ha my birthday gift from you tube. Lol. I have some similar ideas. My haed would love done by may 29th hubbys birthday, and an owl one not started yet for my dil birthday which is dec 26th. I have one for my son partially done but since his birthday is feb 1st, it will have to be for 2025. Hope your order comes soon, I live near her. Colette In reference to the Spirit of the Southwest can her patterns be done on an Aida fabric instead of linen since there are mostly backstitching?

My Christmas Stocking was 16 Ct Aida and it had tons of backstitch and it worked just fine. So go for it, it is a lovely pattern! ❤️

There are so many to choose from! It kind of depends on your comfort zone around people and what you want out of it. Stitch-Con is tons of fun if you’re willing to meet lots of stitchers. Great retreat, lots of vendors and fun. Stitch West is a good one too. If you want something smaller Misty Connelly has two retreats a year one in Wyoming one in Southern Utah that are great. Not sure where you live, that makes a difference too. Good luck!
