I have the 2021 Mk4 ST after trying the other hot hatches. It is just more of a drivers car, more feedback, handling is unbelievable and rotates so nicely around tight corners. It's not the fastest 0-100km/h but it's not a drag car! Up a windy mountain road or on track these things just blow the mind how fast they can go while feeling well within their limits. They just hang on/feel controlled. I may add a Dreamscience tune to bump it up to 340HP and 560Nm. It really doesn't need it but may give it a try.

Mad jealous that you get to drive the MK4, I live in the states and have a 2016 MK3.5 (which I love) but the new models are rad. I live in an area with a lot of mountain roads so I forget how well they handle until I drive another car and forget I can't whip around corners the same way lol

@@sametmis13 True, the STs may not be the fastest off the line but on a track they'll crush just about any car in it's class. I'm sad that the US never got anything post 2018. I have a '16 but would love to get my hands on one of these new models.

Im looking at getting one of these now. A later model though (2017)... I've read a lot of horror stories online about LSPI and engines blowing up but idk man... I see a lot of them for sale with pretty high mileage and still see quite a few on the road too... kinda makes me wonder if these problems are really as common as they make it sound.

The average Ford Focus ST driver is just rev it till it dies even when its cold tbh. I own an Mk8 St Line and I handle it like my baby, still going strong after lots of km's and vacations. If I want to rip the 3 cyl I can whenever I want. I can imagine the 4 cyl's are even more trustworthy!@@twistedsanity623

@@dajuggernaut2099 Gotta swap out the original shift knob with the ST carbon fiber knob. replace the stock Intake filter box with the RS open intake , replace exhaust and delete the blowoff reduction. Gotta open that baby up. Also, gotta clip that goofy antenna down.

Jealous of the Mark IV Euro-Spec ST as USA-spec 2016 ST2 (Mark III) owner. Going up to the 2.3L turbo -4cyl is definitely a bump up from the 2.0L HO Ecoboost in the Gen III. However, I must say I like video of the 2019 version better as it had traditional gauge cluster. Sure, the digital screen is cool for a little bit, but when you want to put the hammer down and do some intense driving, nothing beats a standard analog tach and speedo. The real driving experience with a manual transmission mandates analog tach.

@@spolo123 no. The previous one had a very long 5th gear, 6th gear was only for rpm. Could not pull anyway more than 5th on the redline. So basically 5th was the top speed gear.

The pre-facelift hit top speed in 6th gear, just like the facelift. The gear ratios are unchanged. The one you're referring to is the automatic version, that one has 7 gears but hits top speed in 5th gear.

It can go a lot faster than 250km/h, and for some extra money you can get it to 330 hp 😉.... Very good RS engine ( old RS improved engine, no more faulty headgasket etc)...

RS mk3 had 350hp stock and 420 with bpu, If you like low horsepower sure this engine is an improvment lol

@@junkfoodeater This one is set to 280 or 330 because of Euro 6 polution....but the engine is the old 2.3 RS..... At 280 you get 420 nm and at 330 i got almost 500 nm so its pretty decent especially since its not limited...

My 2013 F-150 5.0L Supercab pickup is the otherway around. When I'm driving 65 mph, it only indicates 61mph. I have to be careful. I am running the original wheel/tire size listed, but I purchased the truck used with 110k miles.

I test drove a mk3 and mk2. Purchased the mk2. The sound of the 5 cylinder is unmatched by any st there after. It may be slower then newer generations but the money saved instead of buying the mk3 I have modified it with money to spare. It's needed for the fuel though as damn it drinks 😛

The rs feels special when your driving it, you don't need to modify it because it already excellent in many areas. As a daily commuter the st makes more sense, comfy most of the time but still fun on a twisty road

The mk1 rs still have fond memories of ownership despite the huge bills, mk2 st was objectively a better car but preferred the rs mk1, the mk3 st and rs have different personalities despite being the same car

The pre-facelift also had halogen indicators and brake lights. Updating them to built-in LEDs requires more changes than what meets the eye, starting with a new certification process for those lights, new wiring, different BCM configuration, etc. At least the Focus has Matrix LED headlights. The same can't be said about many of its rivals with full-LED taillights, and I know what I'd pick.

A lot of manufacturers still build in halogen for the indicators as they supposedly break more frequently and thus are easier to change. It's a minor complaint, but I'd also rather have the rear lights be full LED, halogens just date the car. The front is full LED, the highest trim adaptive headlights on the pre-facelift even had sequential signals like vw/audi.

@@DerKeineAhnungMan Ford informed me in March that production had been halted due to some parts for the ST being produced in the Ukraine. Production of the parts was being moved to Spain and it would be at least 4 months before Spain was up and running.

Wo hast du denn die Zahl her? Der beste run (laut der Liste in der Beschreibung) ist die bei 0:52 Zeit von 15,71s. Alles andere waren entweder keine (erfolgreichen) 100-200 Versuche, also kein durchgehendes vollgas oder es musste abgebremst werden. Beim Test in 2019 hat er sogar eine 14.66 gefahren.

I found the suspension on a standerd Focus way to harsh, cant even imagine what its like on the ST. Even my i30n had better comfort than a diesel focus.
