With the Mustang Mach-e comes a relentless storm of shame and doubt. Sadly, it’s the name of the game, and I am sure Ford executives were well aware that messing around with the Mustang name was going to garner a lot of negative feedback. While the electric crossover has been popular, the name still stirs quite the controversy. In any event, Ford still considers this a Mustang, and, so, we will too for the purposes of this video. The brochure states that “Ford Mustang Mach-E® delivers a driving experience like no other Mustang before it. We’re talking uninhibited exhilaration on every drive - courtesy of the all-electric drivetrain with its BREATHTAKING POWER AND TORQUE. It takes less than half a
second to reach maximum torque. You also get electric power-assisted steering and a fully independent suspension, which is designed for lightweight strength, working
together to channel this thrilling output to the road.”
When you opt for the GT Performance Edition, like what is shown in this video, you get respectable numbers, to be sure; 0-60 MPH in 3.7 seconds, 480 horsepower, 634 lb/ft of torque and brakes by Brembo™. The MagneRide® Suspension Damping System adjusts each corner 1,000 times per second, and inside, you have performance seats, Miko® sueded inserts and dual-motor eAWD for enhanced traction.
Controversial as it is, the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance is quite the vehicle.
The Mach-E sits on Ford’s Global Electrified 1 platform and is assembled at the Cuautitlán Stamping and Assembly Plant in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico. Ours was produced in March of 2023.
