That sprint situation was extremely dangerous: elite riders trying to sprint for the win, having to dodge all kinds of other categories finishing at the same time. That needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt.

i raced in XL this year and the mud there was epic and in each section, night, morning, afternoon and night again. I love seeing the 200milers talk about the one section of mud. it was epic

You failed. Unbound was a huge letdown. No reroute option for an hour and a half walk thru equipment destroying mud? Amateurs ruined their bikes on top of spending over a thousand dollars taking time off work and training for this? Not again. That's not bike racing and this isn't the event it used to be.

Maybe there could be some sort of race marshals pulling people aside to let the pros sprint? Just an idea before someone gets hurt

Dude, there are 4000+ other participants that actually paid their way to do this race, and are finishing their event just the same. It's not on them to change their race to clear way for pros to sprint it out in the same finish line. That's on the race directors to figure out a different setup.

@@jeremytheys also if you are finishing the 100 in 10 hours I don't think you would mind moving over to the side for a minute to avoid an accident. They wouldn't even need to stop, just ride on one side of the road to give enough space to the people racing for the win.
