Did not see this coming at all. So much creativity in the passing game that was nowhere to be seen for the entire year. I'm genuinely impressed with this offensive staff. The question is whether they can continue to improve week to week in play design and play calling. But at least this gives us Gator fans some much-needed optimism for the future of the offense!

Thanks for the content, love the effort and time you put into these! One counterpoint however, not sure it is fair to keep citing the rushing yards and ypc with the -30 yards from the kneel downs and -20 yards from sacks. The actual rushing plays went for 22 carries and 120 yards (5.46 ypc on actual run plays)... we were running pretty well... we just didn't call as many as usual

So glad you introduced everyone to Russ C. Most casual viewers don’t know who he is. He deserves a lot of credit. I truly believe he had a significant role in not only play calling but also play design. Just give him the title already
@tooldread1 Жыл бұрын
Look up his stats at samford. They were explosive in the pass game and were top 5 in offense the whole time russ was calling plays. U better believe he's involved in this offense now. Glad Billy isn't as stubborn as the last 3 stooges.

I’m not a football expert, but I recognized we were playing a lot different against USC, had to come and see the film. Great to hear there’s been a step up in creativity

I think between the Vandy & SC game that’s when Napier opened the playbook a little more, lol and I think Spurrier showed him a few tricks before the SC game.

Could not wait for this one. Glad to know my eyes were not decieving me that UF was passing the ball down the field with new routes etc You did a great job like always breaking down the film, the new route combinations and the wrinkles we ran from the older formations. I pray.....no for real I pray we lean more into this style and build on it. I hope we dont do what we did last yeaf after the Tennessee game and never see that style the rest of the year. We shall see😢

Let's hope the passing game continues like this. They should run more Wildcat with Etienne. If you look at his senior highlight film, he played QB at his high school and throws the ball pretty well. Having him back there with Tre running jet motion would be pretty effective. And yes, I did know he was left handed :)

It's also great because Jawja DC was thinking, "Oh, man, Florida is so predictable" but now we've totally given them another hundred things that they have to worry about. But, unless Florida can execute with precision, the superior athletes that Jawja has will blow up every play we can scheme up. We don't want to put it all on Mertz's shoulders again. He's good, but he's not Superman.

When Wilson caught the tip, that was providence. I knew we would win. Mertz completion % went down and the yards went up. It's a plan for success. Looking forward to more of the new-look Gators.

Was wondering since it's a bye week can u do a review of the georgia game and what offensive plays u have seen in these reviews would work against what the Bulldogs like to run if we can exploit any weakness in there defense

The dolphins actually ran a very similar concept to get their first TD last week. They motioned a TE in orbit motion and he became the lead blocker on a swing to Mostert and he walked in the end zone
@vertigo_one Жыл бұрын
I watched that TD live and thought "I bet you GNFP is smiling on that one" because you've said a ton of times how Mertz pumps too soon or waits too long after the fake to throw. This was literally boom-boom-boom and done.

Love your breakdowns! It's fantastic seeing the ball going downfield. A few of the longer passes ended up underthrown. Do you think that's due to Graham's mechanics or is his arm not strong enough to do that?
@TheGatorNationFootballPodcast Жыл бұрын
His arm is strong enough, I believe it is simply accuracy.

Some other breakdowns say we did see these concepts last year for example with Tennessee and maybe some Kentucky so my question is do you believe that as well or do you believe this is new?
@TheGatorNationFootballPodcast Жыл бұрын
I loved the stuff vs Tennnessee last year, we highlighted that game and we continue to highlight it. In this game, there were combos, that we have not seen on film under Billy. (there are hundreds of way to run common concepts, but the devil is in the details)

You said it best Florida offense this week probably makes teams go “Who tf are these guys” and probably play them differently. And just in time for Jacksonville. Couple times still seeing the useless jet motion but at least they aren’t Constantly running it up 1000 man boxes for no reason. Actually looking like a competent game plan

On the third & 2 with 2:51 in the 2nd,it looks like Ricky is covered up and wouldn't be eligible. Unless Billy is going next level trickery with a tackle eligible pass, or I'm wrong and the players just lined up wrong, there's no way that formation has a pass play in it. About 46:00 on your video.

The only way we can compete with Georgia i didn't say win but compete we have to do our jobs play sound fundamental football 1 play at a time our O-line has to protect Mertz give him time to read the field we need keep the ball in our playmakers hands and try to establish the run i dont see us out physical Georgia but we have to take smart chances down field every given opportunity. Defense has to make some stops and get a turnover if we can do all these thinhs we can possibly even win the game.. but idk my prediction Florida 38-35 😂
