Sorry it took me a minute to get out my update video for March & April - been super busy in everyday life and also wanted to recalibrate some of my goals.

The Tron bike goal is an easy one. Simply do the math and figure out how many feet per week you need to climb. Lots of good goals and hope you get the trainer fixed soon.

I’ll likely get less Zwifting in as the weather has gotten better - getting it by the end of the year should be pretty easy.

Looking forward to seeing where you go with the channel! Would be cool to see some collabs with the other guys for sure! Hope Garmin sort you out properly with the crank arm, for such an expensive piece of kit they should have your back really. I started doing some weight training recently, just body weight squats and lunges. My body the next day was falling apart, legit haven't felt pain like that for years... but hoping to stick with it for a good while at least!

Thanks Jarrod - one day of lifting got me so sore. I’ve got to keep at it, though. Did you find any sort of motivation crash after the marathon? After my big race, it’s hard to keep myself motivated the way I was before it.

@@ericbarnettcycling The first time is always the worst, the next sessions barely left any pain actually. To be honest once it was over I had no desire to run at all, but was super keen to get back on the bike. The previous month or so I didn't really ride at all so I think mixing up the activities helped to keep the motivation up!

You are doing a great job. Both on the bike and on KZbin. Keep it up! I also had trouble with my weak points shoulder, back and hips. For your strength training goal, I have a tip for you: Since I detest gyms, I only do my strength training at home with my own weight. There are many exercises that have helped me enormously after a short time: maxxF by Wend-Uwe Boeckh-Behrens (unfortunately only in German but very helpful). 2 x 20 minutes per week is already enough. Thanks Marco! For starters I’m going to do the StrongLifts 5x5 plan. I have the weights needed to do it - just finding the daily motivation is the next part…

I’ve never had a bike fit, so looking forward to your bike fit experience. I totally understand about lifting weights. I slacked off last year and it showed in my cycling. I had recommitted to weightlifting and as 40 something cyclist I can see the benefits it has given me both on and off the bike. Even as little as twice a week of a total body program can do wonders. Thanks, Daniel. I'm going to do the Stronglifts 5x5 program. It's not incredibly comprehensive, but it's easy and gets me in and out of the gym. Better than nothing!

Hope you have a good bike fit, it did wonders for me when I got that done. I feel you on the crit style races, makes me nervous just watching them. So glad the triathlons I am involved in do not allow drafting.

Thanks Sean - hopefully this will solve some lingering issues. I'm good with drafting in a group ride or endurance ride - it's the aggressive cornering and positioning that I'm nervous about.

Sorry Eric, I missed this when you released it. You're progressing so well with the goals that you may have to add some stretch goals later on!.. Life has been a bit hectic so cycling got bumped down the order a bit, but I'm back on zwift and looking to build up again. See you online sometime soon..

I’m thinking of some new stretch goals. Unfortunately, I have to send the Tacx bike back for a replacement, so it’ll be awhile before I can be on Zwift again. Trying to stay motivated through the setbacks.

Can't wait to see the fix video, and what options you end up going for, and more importantly if they work! Kudos on the start to the year, that is some nice going. I am having a year of taking it easy myself.

Thanks Michael! I do feel some peaks & valleys on daily motivation. Setbacks like the Tacx bike breaking doesn’t help.

@@ericbarnettcycling been working my way through your latest videos, helping me find a little inspiration again, so thanks for that. You have definitely ticked off a lot of those goals so far, I need to up my game. To add insult to injury, not only did I have the issue with my Neobike, the frame of one of my road bikes cracked, so I'm mid warranty claim. Lol

Not ready to race gravel this year - I've only done one gravel ride and it was pretty shaky. Maybe next year.
