Now I am not sure if GSL just switch to that shape for good, or is it just for Maru because he also won the 6th and 7th one. I guess we will only know if a different player win the GSL and see which pin they will get.

I don't understand why dark didn't invest in 3-4 corruptors early in the games. Terrans biggest asset are the medivacs, if you nullify those then you effectively get the whole map to yourself for the rest of the game, no? Like @ 1:43:36, Dark had the money and I think would have been able to keep both of those hatches alive with the threat of 2 corruptors per army group.

Pros generally don't build early corruptors because you would need like 4 or 5 of them to be a deterrent for medivacs and at that point you really don't have enough gas to make enough banes. 1000 resources to not do any damage to marines/tanks.

@@brazilfootballcause they’re more expensive than muta and offer very little utility. Hard to have them positioned correctly especially when you’re on 4+ bases. The kill on medivac is not guaranteed. You either lose your cors to marines or they’ll just boost away. Plus it’s not like tvp where starport has to choose between vikings or medivacs. Terran will replace those medivacs eventually.

You guys remember Stats, and Trap, and Neeb, and PartinG, and Zest... Who ALL went to the military or retired within 24 months of each other?.. herO and Maxpatch have both made it to a Final and both beat Maru [but barely] in that Bo7 in the past 5 months. It has little to do with Balance; there just simply isn't as many Pro level Tosses at this particular moment in time. EVERY race has this occur. There is no such fucking thing as perfect equality and distribution of races at all points in time. FFS. To blame balance is just tunnel-visioned and lazy.

I have a question for those still deep into sc2 as I have not really played in a long time. Why were their worker counts so low? In those matches I saw Maru staying at 55-65 scvs and Dark with 65-75 drones.

Maru goes mass CC (mules) late game to enable a bigger standing army - prior to this he does go up to ~80 scvs in the mid game. Dark's main army composition of roach/ravager typically has a lower drone count due to the higher supply cost of this composition (i.e. 200/200 roach aggression build) . A muta/ling/bane or hydra-lurk/ling/bane comp still has the typical 80-90 drones and in the longer games he does reach this number of drones as he transitions out of roach/ravager.

Maru participated since the very beginning of GSL, but he didn't win it until 2018. SC2 was way more competitive in early days because prize pools were about 200k and this season its just 25k. There were way more people competing and the skill cap was higher. I want to see prime MC / MVP / Nestea / Innovation vs prime Maru then we know who is the real best player

maru is basically retired at this point and has won several times more tournaments and prize money than serral and that during a time when starcraft was way more competitive. you are comparing an old timer to a newcomer towards the end of starcraft 2 lifetime. serral is a slighty better player now but his impact and career have been negligent compared to marus. serral would have been middle of the pack during the prime years when starcraft was at its peak. both playerwise and from a tournament and prize money perspective @@edd8914

How to counter ghosts: 1) Make sure they are all clumped up 2) Repeatedly chain fungal them without letting anything get in range of snipe, which outranges all of your abilities 3) Run huge number of banelings into them 4) Still lose, then let the Terran still whine about how OP Zerg is

I would really want to See a real nerf asap. Last one was no nerf at all, Meta didnt change a Single bit and honestly, everybody knew that Right from the announcement of the Patch. I think they Are Even stronger now against protoss than before. Come up with something interesting: something like ghost movement speed reduced to an unstimmed marine, make Ultra Not snipeable, so that you have at least 1 real Counter to them. The Ghost ultra interaction in General is so crazy in my opinion. Imagine the infestor Having an ability called mega harpune which can be casted burrowed desling 170 damage, Having 14 Range. You could snipe Thors and BCs all the time. Nobody would say that this was balanced. Somehow terrans do Not think that this is a Problem since this is basically what the ghost is against zerg. Its a speed battlecruiser on steroids. Make them unable to do the Auto attack to close targets like Siege Tank, so that lings could actually punish unsupported ghosts. Would make them so much More fitting to the role as a sniper. I Know that terran needs Ghosts in the lategame, so snipe somehow Must stay in the Game, but I do think that they Are wayyy to Strong in the lategame. Its so much harder for zerg to Play against them than it is for the terran to Play with them. Zerg Must have clear counters to them, which they Are Not Having Right now. Zerg cannot punish Mass Ghosts Right now. Counterplay to them is too much luck based, hoping terran will Not Look for a second so that a Fungal or Neural can Hit to emp the other Ghosts. I also do Not like that snipe doesnt interact with upgrades, there has to be a way to make snipe les efficient against fully upgraded Units. Maybe make it dependant on fighting on and off creep, so that it Deals lese damage to Upgraded Units that Are moving on creep. But as I mentioned before, it is really difficult to nerf them, because terran needs to be able to compete with zerg in the lategame. Punishing zerg overextention needs to stay in the game. I do Not think the Points I mentioned would influencer it to a degree that lategame is Not playable for terran. But I would like to hear terran opinions on it. And I Know that terrans Know that the Ghost is too Strong as it is Right now. So be honest pls.
