" I never realise i had a fanbase " I've been watching sc2 competition since the game realese, this dude has been out here playing high level for a decade and i consider him being the third best Zerg behind Rogue and Dark. Yet he spent his career thinking he was just a mid tier player because he couldn't raise the trophy due to facing players like Maru everytime, glad he managed to do it just like soO did before he had to go to the military. He definitely deserve that picture on the wall, and might be the last real champion to get his first GSL before the scene slowly shrinks to a handfull of ancient like broodwar. What a decade with you all that was, without the GSL starcraft wouldn't have been half as enjoyable, thank you so much

I'll spoiler this now as it's been several days. I always feel like it was Solar's fate to do well in GSL, build momentum and then be unceremoniously dumped out of the competition by Maru (I don't know how many times Solar has been beaten by Maru at group stage but it feels like more than half of GSLs). So it's absolutely amazing to see him win after finally beating Maru in a GSL group. The two players I always think "I don't think they're gonna go all the way, but I really hope they do well" are GuMiho and Solar, so I was so so happy to see this final. I guess it would have been slightly better if it was a little closer, but I really wanted Solar to take it overall and I'm delighted he did. GG! I sincerely hope the community support is strong enough to get at least a good couple of GSLs next year. Finger's crossed!

I think they would try to negotiate a sponsorship deal with Microsoft ,who own Blizzard now, for the next year tournaments and pro-tour along with ESL.

Its been show that the new Cyclones arent buffy enough, they die too easily the moment they get surrounded. Other than for a couple of rush timing or early harassments, they are not good offensively.

1:51:39 what happens to the SCVs behind the planetary fortress? There's only 4 SCV kills credited but like 15 disappear???

The count is correct. One group gets split away to safety, one group is mineral walked to safety, and several other scvs were pulled to repair planetary and are obscured behind the explosion. Only a small number die while a whole bunch are knocked into the red. Medivac healing might have been the difference in more not dying they rapidly healed up a clump of them

Happy for Solar to finally get the W. But so bummed that we didn't get to see Gumiho mech in this series. I was by far the most excited for this finals in a long time, and then so disappointed by the cookie-cutter play.

Terran needs buffs in TvZ. People say gumi made mistakes, its the balancing issue. It's impossible to pressure zerg right now, they have it figured out. Solar was on t1 units for the majority of the games. Ling bane is currently overpowered in TvZ now that they figured it out. How are you supposed to pressure that? Terrans can't mech against zerg because the units are made out of paper. Once they get vipers its game over. Banelings need more nerfs.

Ling bane hydra its the same tier of marine marauder medivacs tanks. Lings and marines 1 banes marauders 1.5 and hydras banes with speed medivacs and tanks are tier 2. Gumi makes a lot of micro and macro mistakes. By ur comment u are a low level player.

The biggest problem is that banelings are too tanky, and all T counters to banelings have easy 1-click tier-3 counters from zerg, which used to be balanced by mass ghost, but now ghost got nerfed to hell...

Vipers are the problem. Viper infestor is only countered by ghost, ghost was only viewed as OP because it was the only counter Terran has against viper infestor (and counters lurker, ultra, broodlord). It starts to snowball once the viper hits the field if Terran doesn't have it countered quick enough. Forget about further nerfs to baneling, viper is the key unit that is throwing the game out of balance until Terran has some other viable way to counter viper infestor. Terran can survive Ling bane compositions until blinding clouds and units start getting abducted, at which point they can no longer outlast Ling bane

Glad solar finally got his, but damn disappointing for Gumiho's general play style this finals round. The guy is known for his creative play styles, but this round he basically did the same openers all series. Was hoping for more mech style play.

down 0-2 with his bio builds, gumiho didnt adjust always this bio build, i hate seeing him doing over and over this double ebay play. (yes he won 1 but he lost 4-1 overall) gumiho is known to be a mech terran and he is the best mech terran. i dont know why of all the 5 games he only have one fucking build which is bio build. his bio play isnot as good as the bio play of maru/clem/oliveria/byun- you know when you bio, you better split like a god like them, of all his plays in this series, did you see any split when them mass ling banelings attack? nope. he just ran them away in a big clump im like, gumiho where is your bread and butter plays? the 8 factory builds? where is the fusion core? im like after losing 0-2, he goes bio again? now 0-3, he goes bio build again? okay, 1-3 now, then on the 5th game? let me guess, another bio build again. im like. bro...................

Anyone dominating mirror matches is arguably objectively playing better. Solar really had a crazy record recently beating Dark Serrel Reynor, even 3:0, 4:0 etc. I distinctly remember he won 5 maps against serrel in a row, crazy Crazy anyone could dominate the match up

After watching the two first games it feels like a complete missmatch, Solar is just a-moving banelings up ramps into PFs and winning easily. This is usually what happens when there is a 1000 mmr difference and the lower MMR player tried to play macro. I was expecting exciting builds (all-ins and definetly widow mines instead of Tanks) from Gumiho and not an attempt at playing high tier Maru style macro TvZ, it does not fit him.

Gumi just didn't play the first two games that well. What he's great at is mech play and he played bio for those two. You can't be inactive against Zerg unless you're going super turtle mech.
