To each their own but I actually like the fake vent. Whenever I see cars with only the one real vent, it does not sit well with my OCD. I prefer the symmetry.

Terrible gas mileage and in Canada the hybrid starts around $50k. Our Toyota Venza is averaging around 5.8 l/100 km or around 41 mpg. And the Venza starts around $44k. It's not as spacious as the CR-V but it meets our needs. I think we made a good decision with the Venza.

I take 37 mpg combined over outdated cheap made interior and boring driving Toyota

I have the opposite experience in SoCal. When comparing equivalently equipped Toyota and Honda, I find that Toyota is several $1,000's more. That is especially true with the Venza. The Venza is a beautiful car that is almost equal to the luxury counterpart, Lexus NX 350 h, it costs nearly $50,000 in US currency. The local Honda dealers are not marking up vehicles anymore, so I can find a CRV at MSRP.

If a hybrid can't get good fuel economy what's the point. I'll take one of the competitors.

This is the complaint my parents have with their CR-V Touring Hybrid. Dad says his buddy's CR-V that isn't hybrid isn't much worse for fuel economy. They're getting about 8 L/100 km (29.4 mpg) whereas in my Ford Maverick XL Hybrid, I'm getting about 6 L/100 km (39.2 mpg).

My 2024 CRV Touring Hybrid gets 6.0-6.2L/100 km - I'm very pleased with those numbers.

I'm getting 37 combined in warm weather...seeing signs of a dropoff in colder weather. Highway is a little below EPA number, Urban cycle is higher (40-42). You didn't mention the excellent off the line torque, surprisingly. Quietest Honda CRV is the Sport Touring, which has extra sound proofing in glass, firewall and wheelwells exclusive to this trim level. Heat seating wheel, and unmentioned AWD. You have a very pleasant and clear style, but I think you missed some important points on this trim level hybrid. The only Honda which compares with this trim level for refinement is the Accord Touring hybrid, which is probably a tad faster due to light weight, but which lacks AWD.

Our job isn't to sell it, to give driving impressions.

@@TestDrivenTV I would think your job includes covering the features and qualities which set the trim level you reviewed apart from the Sport and other CRVs, as many other reviewers have done. That's not selling it. That's giving needed details to explain the price tag and the differing level of refinement. If that helps sell it to some, so be it. You wouldn't be advocating buying it because for someone like me (who tested the "lesser" Sport trim as well), the trim sells itself, if a reader can afford the higher cost.

Again, this is journalism, not brochure recital. While you are a proud owner and want your feathers fluffed, none of the features you feel are so important really change the outcome or scoring of this review (and it got a very good review). People can go to hondacars.com for more information.

@@TestDrivenTV We seem to be missing one another's points, but I'll make this my final comment. Yes, you DID give it a very good review, and your commentary was pleasant and clear. MY point, however trivial it may seem to you, is you specified you were reviewing the top Sport Touring trim. I test drove both the Sport and the Sport Touring trim, taking into account their substantial cost differential. One of the biggest differences was the level of improved NVH in the Sport Touring trim with its added sound insulation, besides the Bose sound system (which you mentioned). It just feels and sounds more refined than the Sport or the turbo CRVs. I don't disagree with your overall very good review (especially the points you made about the lack of a spare). It's just that if you're specifying it's the top level trim, your commentary should have included the NVH. Sorry if I seemed harsh. By the way, one negative I've found to be true is the wireless charging only works occasionally with the thick Otterbox case commonly used with iPhones. I'll be interested to see how the AWD works in a Buffalo winter. Oh well, I may have come across as kvetchy, but I hit Like and I subscribed. (I presume the Accord Touring hybrid is also noticeably more quiet than other Accord trim levels.)

Absolutely love this channel. He does great reviews and he’s been providing awesome great content for many years now. How come his channel hasn’t blown up with alot more subscribers?? Hello Sam H from Seattle WA. always looking fwd to your next video, when will you start reviewing older vehicles, like early 2000s or earlier? like a 94 Chevrolet Caprice Classic wagon, Buick Roadmaster, Honda Element, Toyota Celtics, Scion Xb, Mini Cooper JCW, Older Plymouth Lazer, Mitsubishi Starion / Chrysler Conquest Tao. just a few examples of vehicles that i’m sure would get lots of views 😊. take care!😊

Not quite exactly the same features between the Hyundai/Kia and the Honda. The Hyundai/Kia offer a pano roof, 360 camera and ventilated front seats for a bit less money. Honda made a few questionable equipment omissions with this redesign IMO.

also to this day I question why Honda still neglects to install the 'burst into flames while it's parked inside your garage' feature as standard equipment, just like the Hyundai/Kia's line up for over the last decade now. A huge missed opportunity on Honda's part.😉

Good review Sam, a couple deal breakers here and I’m a Honda guy. No flat floor AND no spare tire, I was stranded while waiting for a tow after hitting a pothole which cut the sidewall, the “fix a flat” was useless, I wouldn’t take it on a road trip. I now have a Ridgeline that I love !!!!! Real tranny, towing capacity and yes a spare tire, just my .02

Native navigation that works without needing a cellular connection! I am always hearing gripes when there’s no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but they are useless unless you have a way to download all of your maps. A $100-$200 Garmin would be superior off-road and they have free map updates, while any built in navigation systems in vehicles will ask you to pay for updates. I believe that with in 10 years mobile phones will connect wit Starlink and so will vehicles, Teslas first and then whoever is willing to pay for it’s hardware and software. There will be steep monthly pricing at first. Elon will have it first and maybe soon?

Our 2006 Civic Hybrid had a small Atkinson Cycle engine (not a 1.6, maybe a 1.3?) that sounded horrible when needed.

Good review of an SUV that commands interest. It's quite an improvement from the previous generation, but still holding firmly to its customer base. Nevertheless, I wish it had the 12' display and ventilated seats found in the Accord. (edit) By the way, the engine sound in Sport Mode is artificial.
