For 2023, Isuzu has stepped up its game with the updated MU-X. Against newer competitors in the midsize SUV segment, the top-spec 2023 Isuzu MU-X 3.0 4x4 LS-E has its own strengths, like remarkable ride comfort, a host of safety features, and impressive stopping power. The 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine delivers decent performance and fuel efficiency to boot, and the new Norwegian Blue color option is a unique, and classy paint job that should appeal to a wide spread of buyers.

Isuzu 3.0L engine is a leashed monster, that's why it appears to have less power. Remap the ECU (engine control unit) then you'll unleash its real power. Isuzu design philosophy is durability and longer engine life that's why we always see an Isuzu engine less boosted. Isuzu isn't called The Diesel King for nothing.

In my opinion, some midsize SUVs handle better. The Terra and potentially even the Montero would handle better than this. Then I found the ride to be less on the firm side and more floaty, so it actually compares to those two as well. Not as soft and plush as the Everest, though, that's for sure. If you do end up trying these out, I'd love to hear your take on it!

Im from the US and thinking about getting an SUV here in PI which one has the most horsepower and torque out of all them. Im talking SUV like the Mu-X, fortuner, montero etc. Preferably just the top of the line models.

A 3-litre making 187 hp, those are bad numbers especially by today's standards. They need to replace that engine ASAP. Too fuel-hungry compared to other SUVs in the segment.

@@jonasgarcia3668 I'm sure it's economical but Montero's 2.4L makes identitical numbers, the Terra makes the exact amount with just 2.5L, the Ford's 2.2 bi-turbo swamps it, Fortuner's 2.8 swallows it. In my opinion, compared to SUVs within the same class, they need to upgrade it. By today's standards clearly they can do better than a 3.0L churning a measly 187 hp. If they're going that route, I suggest bumping it up to a number much more suitable to 3 litre engines. I highly doubt it's more economical than aforementioned engines. The power to efficiency ratio just doesn't make sense in 2023.

@@Matgunman they actually tuned it that way as they want to preserve the engine’s longevity. There’s a youtuber that dynotuned the car and it was way better than the competition. There’s no actual need for them to boost it as much as fords do as this ain’t a sport variant or sport focused suv.
