On Saturday, May 13, 2023, the Jason Taylor Foundation held its 3rd annual UKG Jason Taylor Community Hall of Fame Dinner & Silent Auction presented by the Miami Marlins, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Each year, the foundation inducts three individuals into the Jason Taylor Community Hall of Fame, one youth, one corporate, and one celebrity. The 2023 Youth Hall of Famer was Celine Churchman.
Celine is a high-achieving AICE and Honors student and an incredibly active member of the G. Holmes Braddock student body and surrounding community. During her freshman year of high school, in the midst of the global pandemic, she assisted the Commissioner of her hometown City of Sweetwater by coordinating more than 100 youth volunteers each for eight different food distribution events, helping to distribute more than 24,000 meals to residents of her community. As a result, she was named Junior Legislative Aid and Events Coordinator for the city.
That same year, Celine established 7 Helping Hands, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger for underserved individuals and families throughout South Florida. To date, 7 Helping Hands has helped to feed more than 100,000 families and recently established the “7 Helping Hands Pantry” on her school’s campus.
“Monica and I were blown away by Celine’s passion for helping others,” said Jason Taylor. “Reading about a teenager who is not just dedicated to ensuring no one in her community goes hungry, but one who had the desire to start a foundation, organize her friends and family, and carry out her mission on such a large scale is truly inspiring and the exact reason why we established the Community Hall of Fame.”
