The square head screw is a Canadian invention. I’m 50 years old and they’ve been around here longer than I’ve been alive. It’s called a Robertson and comes in a 0,1,2&3 size. #2 Robertson is the most common. Each size screwdriver has its own colour to quickly identify the size. #2 Robertson is red. They don’t strip anywhere near as easily as a useless Phillips head. All wood and decking construction is Robertson here in Canada. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 you’re welcome from Canada

Dewalt makes the No 2 square head bit for the screws on the boat. Better for torque vs Phillips. Easy to find.

Thanks for the tip.

Its better for many reasons one other than torque is they less likely to strip out as a Phillips heads will very easily strip n then it's a huge issue!

clear, direct walk-through on this model. Couldn't have asked for more. Has that second rod tie-down behind the co-angler seat proved itself to be in a fairly safe spot? I had to laugh when I saw the 4 rod capacity for the non-boater thinking to myself, "not the guys I know"! Were you using those newer lithium type batteries for your 2 trolling motor batteries? I wasn't familiar with the term you used when referencing them. Seems like a great boat. Coming out of all previous boats being glass I am a bit concerned about the "tipsy" factor that I assume aluminum with a lighter weighted boat might suffer from. I'd appreciate your candid opinion on that.
@mikemilljustbassinthru32903 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. My trolling motor batteries are Group 31 AGM batteries made by V-Max. Lithiums may be in my future but for now my wallet is happy with the AGMs. I have not experienced any tipsy factor in this boat, it is very stable. The only complaint I might have regarding aluminum boats is the light weight makes them very susceptible to being blown around when fishing in windy conditions. The spot-lock can be very helpful on those windy days.

When you are charging your batteries, do you have to have the center lid open to get the cord out or is there a way to keep it closed and locked for rod security if you staying in a hotel or something like that?
@mikemilljustbassinthru32905 күн бұрын
I keep the lid open at home in the garage but when away I've found you can close it and run the cord through a point where the corner of another compartment lid lines up without kinking the cord. I was more concerned about ventilation of the battery gasses. At the front of the rod locker there are ventilation slots that let the gasses escape. My boat hasn't blown up yet, so I guess they worked.

I have a 2022 1875 and run a Powertech PTR3 18p prop I get 47-48 mph @ 6250 rpm fyi and have tried just about every prop out there and this is the best one imho. Also the 2022 seats are better than those. So if you can find you 1 for the front, I would recommend it, they are different. I have the Lund guard floor with the marine Matt and love it.

I just ordered a 24' 1775 with 90hp. I want to swap stock prop out for a spit fire 4 blade. I had a tracker 175txw that I swapped stock prop out for a spit fire and loved it as well. hole shot time was cut in half with almost no loss of top speed. My tracker had a 60hp and I ran a 10.1x14 spitfire. Wondering what size I should run on my new Renegade w/90hp? any ideas? or know a dealer that I could call? my dealer doesn't know as they don't sell many Renegades at all. (up here in tip of the mit) mostly big water boats coming from this dealer.

Nice boat. Just bought a 1875 renegade. Pick it up next week. Was wondering what size trolling motor you are running? A 45??54. Length?? Thanks

The Garmin Force comes in a 50" or 57". I have the 50". Have fun with your new boat.

Ya I’m just debating whether to get a 45 inch or 54 inch shaft and motor. Do you have any idea about how far under the surface your 50 inch is under water.

Can I please ask you where did you get the big bungee to hold your seat down because I have the same problem with my seats in my Express can you tell me where you purchase those so I can see about getting some for myself, thanks
@mikemilljustbassinthru3290 Жыл бұрын
I honestly don't remember where I got it. Found it in a box in my garage. It was probably some kind of tether or leash for kayak accessories. What you want to look for is something about 2 feet long with loops on each end instead of hooks. Just put the loops over the pole on the bottom of the seat and you're good to go.

How do you access the area where you can replace your pumps or anything dealing with the back of the boat?

Question Is the back ladder used to get in and out the boat while it’s on the trailer or is it the the stand on the finder and leg swing like old school Make a video
@mikemilljustbassinthru32906 ай бұрын
I've not yet used the back ladder but my assumption is that it is meant for getting in and out of the boat on the water.

Thx for the review. How does it ride in rough water? Also, how long is it with the swing away tongue opened up. Curious if I can fit it in 22ft garage. Thx
@mikemilljustbassinthru3290 Жыл бұрын
I've not yet had it in extremely rough water but I can honestly say it handles choppy water much better than my old boat. I'm sure a ProV would be much better in rough water than the ModV but I'm impressed with it so far. Full boat/motor/trailer length is 22' 5".... folding the swing away tongue will buy you about 2 feet. Keep in mind the width is 8' 2"... it's a tight squeeze in to my garage.
