Really hoping Manual will be an option. If not, I still have high hopes this will be a great successor in the RX family. The goal is to have this sit along side my Supra and 23’ Z in the future 🙏🏾 Really hoping Mazda brings something exciting to the table!

If Mazda are anything but the norm, they should be making a manual option. The MX-5 is known to have great feeling for the gearshifts. And my Mazda 3 makes me smile because of this. This is why we love Mazda's right. 😍

I think it has the potential to be an amazing car, but unfortunately for the past 10 years, Mazda has shifted from a memorable driving experience to making really pretty cars, so I hope they still got it in the performance area.

@@ioriOki For the past 10 years people want to spend money on SUVs. So it’s hard for a small company like Mazda to make an expensive sports car with only two seaters. Plus people who loves Mazda are special breed. My first car is Mazda 626 v6 back in high school. It was so much fun but of course can’t compete with all my Asian friends who has E class or 3 /5 series for their first car. Of course through out the years I also acquired many different cars but once you driven the Miata you will understand why people love Miata so much. The car teaches you to be a better driver…because it barely has anything and you are in control of everything. So I really wish Mazda can come out with something that can rival with Toyota and Nissan

The 3 rotary engine was introduce in a car call the Cosmos 1990-1995. Very good looking automobile. It was never sold in America.

Mazda's patent is very similar to the NSX, 2x electric motors in front, mid-front 3-rotor+3rd electric motor and rear transaxle. Look at the Acura NSX design, 2x (27kW / 36 hp) electric motors in front, but mid-rear Turbo V6 (500hp) with 3rd (35 kW / 45 hp) electric motor and rear transaxle.

Thanks for translating, did you post the translated text somewhere? Two independent EV motors in the front could be interesting, it might help with cornering to drive the outside front tire faster than the inside front tire. Using a hybrid with a rotary engine rather than a big heavy battery might be a way to keep the overall weight down without sacrificing range or getting stuck when taking long trips in places where chargers aren't easy to find.

​@@ioriOki if you have the exact documents with English text instead of Japanese, english-speaking fans who are familiar with EVs might be able to help decipher their plan. For instance, if there are two front EV motors (left and right ) they can do cool tricks to improve handling like torque vectoring. I don't know of many EVs that use two motors in the front, aside from Rimac. Tesla uses two rear motors for torque vectoring on the latest Model S Plaid, all their previous cars (like Model 3 and previous Model S dual-motor) had open differentials.

Did you ever read Audi (VWG) also bought rights quite a few years ago now to use the rotary engine as a range extender in EVs? I still think it sucks hydrogen never went off with a bang (pun intended) because we could all be driving sick turbocharged rotary's running on water...
