I am reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo rn and I'm around 200 pages into it and OH. MY. GOD. DO I LOVE THIS WOMAN. She is flawed, as all humans are, but the thing I like about her is her wittiness and street smartness and how she got her out of worst of the worst case scenarios no matter what it took. Makes me think about how fortunate we are as women to be living the kind of life we do and having taken birth in a generation like this, where people around us are ready to give us (most of) what we deserve from day 1. People are more aware overall. By this I do not mean that they are doing us a favor, but no matter how great are the things you deserve, if the society as a whole just won't let you get it, you'll have to go through unimaginable things. It makes me think of all the women who ran, so we could walk.

hi!! just wanted to quickly say that i discovered your channel maybe a week ago? and you and literally one of my favs youtubers now!! i really enjoy all of your content and you geniuenly seem like that sweetest person ever! ❤ now to the book park of this: you are SO convincing because i am now 1. on goodreads and 2. DYING TO READ Eleanor Oliphant. since i am in highschool, we have to read certain books and personally, being forced to read is literally torture and takes all of the fun out of it. with that being said, this year i’ve only read a couple books (horrible, ik 😔) but i am currently reading Daisy Jones & The Six AND I LOVE IT SO FAR!! you were 100% spot on when you said TJR knows how to bring the past and present together perfectly. im def going to be reading WAY more this half of the year, because you’ve reminded me how much i adore reading!! 😘😘

Oooo I could listen to you discuss your favorite books all day! I've just discovered your channel and I completely dig your tastes! If you're looking for a phenomenal series to dive into (I had similar feelings to ACOTAR as you), anything by Ilona Andrews is amazing. The author is actually a husband/wife duo, which makes the adventure and romance JUST so spot on. It's paranormal romance action, super strong female lead character and oh, I just devour everything they write. Omg just remembered the Karen Marie Moning Fever series.... Oldie but a goodie, I don't see books written like this series anymore. Wonderful female lead who goes from blonde swimming pool girl to a capable dependable, and powerful woman. It's paranormal romance again, but the characters and plot are just out of this world. Brilliant brilliant as well ❤

Best read of 2023 is TOUGH. The whole Mindf*ck series was amazing. So was Legendborn. Best sequel was probably Kingdom of Ash. I went through so many tissues and emotions reading that behemoth and it was all worth it. Haven't yet read Don't Let Her Stay (I think thats new) but its on my summer TBR Most anticipated book is probably Gold (plated prisoner book 5) or Iron Flame (fourth wing book 2). I also couldn't finish TATB series of books. LJ is truly insufferable. Mine was Queen of Myth and Monsters. The first book was excellent. Idk what happened with the sequel. Also LOVED Evelyn Hugo, unexpectedly. Definitely wasn't what I thought it would be. Favorite new author: Jana DeLeon. I'm about to read book 2 of the Shaye Archer series and I already plan on buying the other 5 in the series. Newest favorite character: Manon Blackbeak ALL DAY. Close second would be Lana Myers from Mindf*ck. The book that made me cry was, again, Kingdom of Ash. A book that made me happy: Sunny disposition. I was cheesing all the way through and immediately wished i could re-read it for the first time Haven't bought any physical books this year Don't have any need to reads. My TBR is >350 books so I'll read any of them. I loved this video format. It's nice to have something thats thought provoking and interactive!

My favorite book of the year is T he Last Word by Taylor Adams. My most disappointing book of the year was My Darkest Prayer by S. A. Cosby. I love his other books but not this one😕 Best book in a series was Gass Houses. That is number 13 in the inspector Gamache, Three Pines series by Louise penny. I do love Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but I’ve read those in previous years. I love watching your videos. You are so cute! please keep doing what you’re doing. 🥰

Maybe you can read the book "The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett by Annie Lyons". I'm reading it right now, and from my whole reading career (which spans for about 2-3 years now), is the only book I think will be a 5 star read

Khalila, you should try Haruki Murakami's book. Start with Norwegian Woods.

With the 7 husband's of Evelyn Hugo, the ending was disappointing. I did really like it because everything was unexpected.

The ending was supposed to be a twist. not necessarily disappointing. I read Evelyn Hugo in 2020 and i was just blown away!! It was brilliant story - based in truth and helped me to understand and ins and outs of Hollywood.

that’s crazy how you didn’t like “ To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” because I LOVEDDD the book series (as well as the movies) when they first came out. But then again I was in high school and most definitely the target audience. Now I’m scared to read it as adult me because it may ruin my positive perception of it now 😭

@khalilahd. So bad. My children are on the spectrum and I found this representation super offensive. It seemed like the book was making fun of the character on the spectrum. It was terrible.
