I agree that while it is important to keep in mind of our money philosophy to reach our retirement goal, but nothing beats the importance of a good health. Looking forward to a great and better 2023 year ahead! 😊

Thank you Lisa for sharing! I've always taken interest in being disciplined with personal finance, and while I have my own little spreadsheet to track my overall $$, I never thought about setting goals. I'm inspired to do the same and also tweak my spreadsheet with takeaways from yours. You're an inspiration to me!! ❤

Hello Lisa, I’m a huge fan and have been following your channel since you uploaded your first budget video. Though I’ve made budgets for myself in the past, I’m far from disciplined enough to follow the financial plans I create for myself. I spend too much on frivolous things and indulgences to be disciplined and in particular I find that this hits the “non-forced” components of my savings and investments - the savings that aren’t plans bought from some company that I am “forced” to pay for on a regular basis. Having said that, though you are certainly a saint of saving and a GOAT of planning, I was very disappointed to hear you say that you feel you have little to no control over your salary. If there’s one thing I’ve done right for myself financially, it’s believing in and maximizing my earning power. I was 3 years into my career when I told myself that I will make up for my frivolous spending habits by doing even more side hustles and working on my career to maximize my earning power. This might sound ridiculous to you, but through several great efforts, sometimes crazy endeavours, and countless ups and downs, my day job salary has actually tripled from 2018, and I actually have this feeling that if there’s one thing I can control, its my ability to add value to any organization and therefore earn. I hope that you too can start believing in your own career because belief is the first step. I’d love to wait till your 2028 budget and see that your number is 12k instead of 4k. You’re already showing so much discipline and conscientiousness doing detailed financial planning and budgeting for yourself, and these are excellent characteristics to set you up for career success.

Great inspirational video :) just curious if you're ok to elaborate - why you chose to sell your notion template via payhip rather than other platforms e.g. gumroad? Thanks :)
@LisaAdultinginSingapore
@LisaAdultinginSingapore Жыл бұрын
thank you 🥰 i alr tried gumroad first but it didn’t work for me! as in it literally couldn’t work, i couldn’t set something up properly and so i had to find an alternative. and payhip turned out to be even more user friendly so i went with that 😊

Mind to share why u choose Stashaway (active investing) as yr investment partner?
@LisaAdultinginSingapore
@LisaAdultinginSingapore Жыл бұрын
hi! hmmm i actl think Stashaway is very passive leh which is why i like it. i just set up monthly transfers so that i can invest a little bit every month without thinking too much abt it. i also prefer stashaway bc the overall experience of using their service is the best out of all the others i’ve tried! 😁

@@LisaAdultinginSingapore StashAway was the first robo advisor that I used but I've been disappointed by their management, which included selling off all the KWEB holdings at market bottom last year rather than riding it through. This is ironic since they have been espousing the virtues of staying invested to their customers. My portfolios have never recovered since that episode and I've lost faith in them. Great content from you, though, as usual.
