It’s so nice to see someone else that prints things on sticker paper. I thought I was the only one and felt like I was a loser lol ❤

I think I would love to start a reading journal. I listen to audio books because it’s hands free and I can get housework done and work on art or whatever. It would be nice to have a place to write down my thoughts and favorite quotes or moments in the books I like. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely!! Im right there with you. I love to listen to audiobooks in the shower/as I get ready! 😝

This journal is stunning! Not only the cover but every spread you did. Also, you’re handwriting when you do the capital letters for the genres is so good

oh wow, your idea for the pouches is brilliant! I’ve kept a reading journal for years but next year I’m thinking of adding the covers. it’s nice to have a visual of what I’ve read! the pouches will definitely be a big help, thank you so much for sharing! 💗

No worries! And last year, I didn’t do the covers all together (just on the separate book spreads) but I love love love having the visual of all the covers together. Thanks so much for the kind words! :)

Thank you!! And best of luck starting yours, absolutely! I know there are some reading journals out there with tons and tons of tracking spreads (and they’re super cool) but I try to keep it as simple and functional as possible so I don’t get burnt out with it.

I love the pouch idea. I print out my covers as I read them because I'm also a mood reader. But maybe I'll implement this in my next reading journal.

Thanks!! I usually am printing something else and don’t want to waste precious sticker paper, lol - so I’ll fill space with book covers! (Hope it works out for you!! 💕)

I have a reading journal. Since I’m in education I have my year go from September to August. One of my favorite types of spreads are reading challenges I come across. I find that helps me when I’m not sure what to read next.
@julia-here2 жыл бұрын
I love reading challenge spreads! I've been thinking about reading a book that starts with every letter of the alphabet.. or the every-country challenge. Thanks so much for reminding me of those! :)

I'm starting my first reading journal in 2023 (the notebook hasn't arrived yet so I'm doing all my planning on loose-leaf paper hahaha). One thing I'm doing is a list of 20 prompts/characteristics/genres which I'll use a D20 to help me pick (when I have decision paralysis), so for example an autobiography, or a book in a language I am learning, or a book written by a woman of color from a different country, etc
@julia-here2 жыл бұрын
I love that!! Great idea. Are you closing your eyes and moving your finger around to land on one? Also, best of luck on your first reading journal; that’s super exciting!
@bacruz12 жыл бұрын
@@julia-here Thank you!! I'm numbering them 1 to 20 in a random order and then using my lucky dice to guide me in choosing a book (don't know if that makes sense?) I'm really excited to get started!!! I am also doing a Bingo card with quirky/different items like "author is a capricorn" or "I could see this becoming a Wes Anderson movie" or "friendship goals"
@julia-here2 жыл бұрын
Totally makes sense! I may add in a bingo card at some point. Those look super fun 👌🏽

Hi! Which type of pen is the red one used for the recommended spread? I couldn't figure it out and I long the colour. Your journal is so good!
@julia-here Жыл бұрын
I gotcha! I still have the 'making of' footage so it was fun to figure this one out; for the outline (and recommended lettering), it's an Archer & Olive Acrylograph (color: blood orange), a Cricut fineliner (color: very berry) for the inside red lines and row headers, and a Staedtler Dual Brush marker for the alternating row highlights :) - hope that's helpful! Thank you so much for the kind words :)

I was wandering how you print out the book covers ? X thx
@julia-here2 жыл бұрын
I have a home printer and I just use sticker paper so I can just peel and stick but some of them are just printed on copy paper as well. I arrange them in InDesign (I use this software for work and recommend using a free app like Canva or something instead) at 1”x1.5”
