2023 Nissan Maxima SR POV Test Drive & Review

This is the new 2023 Nissan Maxima SR. This Maxima SR comes in pearl white tricoat on charcoal premium ascot leather interior. The powertrain consists of a 3.5 liter naturally aspirated V6 engine mated with a CVT.
Standard features of this Maxima SR include Bluetooth audio, a backup camera, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. Additional features include a panoramic power sunroof, navigation system, and heated/cooled front seats.

Yet Another Outstanding Review. I also been looking at this Nissan Model, as well as the Frontier Truck. I have owned in the past a Maxima, a 2018 SV Model, and did enjoy the performance and ride, but did not use it much to I sold it back to the dealer for a great price. But have been getting the urge yet again, but if I do indulge again, it will be my only vehicle. Again Thanks for this review.

I wish they would’ve put a “non-CVT” transmission in it. It gets the job done, but my girl had a 2014 Maxima SV that had like 24,000 miles in 2018, and the transmission legit failed after she signed the paperwork. Luckily warranty covered it, but she loved Maximas for so long, and now she won’t Drive one

I use the lever shifter in my old altima. Saves my breaks by downshifting. I like using the gear lever to shift or having that as an option. Never drove a Maxima.

Still a nice car for sure being a Maxima supposed be the four door sports car needs a 9 speed automatic maybe Nissan might change their mind about EV making another Maxima with 9 speed automatic and newer design which this last generation has aged pretty well.

I want the midnight version of this car, but I hate that Nissan can't make a CVT that can go over 260 foot pounds of torque. Horespower is good, but without that torque you can't even do an aggressive pass around a slower vehicle, coming off of a stop light. the stupid torque converter pretty much disengages, making it sound like you're slipping gears or stuck in neutral. At least this was my experience with the 2015 Juke Nismo. It just goes Vrrrrrr- Wiiiiiiiiiinnnngggggg!!!"...all the way to 4K+ RPM and goes nowhere until you hit about 45mph, at which point it grabs like a mofo and drives racing hard...then 3 seconds in, drops into overdrive and into a bog, like "Beeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..." while the turbo is working over time stuck at like 1500RPMs, while the throttle is mashed 2/3 of the way floored and sounding like a damn wind tunnel, going "Woooshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" and not a normal hissing/ winding sound, like it's supposed to, at normal 2500-3000 RPM driving lol. So far, between my Juke and my 2014 Ford focus CVT? They're garbage. The Ford did it better, after I brought it in for 2 transmission control module failure visits. The first time they just re-flashed it and the second time replaced the TCM and it actually shifted convincingly like a manual. My Juke has been in for the CVT limp mode issues twice, but they finally nailed it in that last visit. I think they just replaced the transmission all together...after the first reflash did nothing. So if you like going from a normal "Vrrrrrrr..." to "Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnggggggg!!!" to a hard drop into a "Berrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....?" Be my guest lol. It makes you sound like an idiot off the stop light, or accelerating into a hard pass...and kind of like how I sound in social media impersonating a CVT."

If there was ever a car begging to have a manual transmission in it.. The CVT’s in these are absolute trash. Would have been a grand slam of a car otherwise.
