Doing the full rear subframe, R56 trail arms, adjustable control arms, R56 brakes, and exhaust on my 06 over the next few months. It will be fun to watch your videos at the same time and see if we run into any of the same issues.

Awesome, just ordered a Whiteline rear sway bar with poly bushings to get my rear end planted better...good luck with everything!

finally a channel that has content on the w11 .... finally haha. I recently built my r53: wider wheels and tires, full subframe rebuild front and back, bc coilovers, all new motor mounts and refresh the entire engine bay, racing seats, short shifter, big brakes the works. BUT now I am looking to build the motor once it finally blows on track so its great to see some content on how to do this! keep it up

How are the BC coil overs? I suspect some form of new suspension setup will happen next year.

@@RegardingAutomobiles so far they have been great. I got the DS series which I highly recommend as it makes freeway driving much more enjoyable. I will be doing a lot more track testing coming up, but I will say with the limited testing I've done so far, it is definitely a very different ride than stock. Car feels very planted and it handles bumps really good. But if the bump is big enough like a big pothole or speed bump that you went over too fast, it can feel pretty jarring

Glad to see you back mate. 👍🏻👍🏻 Finished my S convertible about the same time as yours and same rebuild. I have kept the original coolant tank which seems fine, its a daily driver and I'm not driving it lightly. Had a leak on the oil filter housing, broke 3 cos they're very delicate bolt flanges so that was a pain (they crack without realising so check), after that pretty nice as a daily driver. I have the low profile tyres so that makes every bump in the road shake through the car but guess that's what you get for performance 🤔🤔

By the time I am done with this it will be great on the track and rattle my teeth on the road! That was always the goal, has just taken longer than expected.

Agree change the header tank but also get hold of a high quality cap. Radium make a good one

I just blew the engine on a JCW Coupe, I'm still trying to get over the shock of how a perfectly running car with less that 40k could grenade.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. Going to rebuild or sell it for something new?

@@RegardingAutomobiles I just paid 18k for her, she's beautiful. I'm not giving up. It was the most fun car to drive I've ever driven. I'm debating whether to take get to a mechanic or do a rebuild/swap myself. Leaning towards doing it myself. Any tips on a good source of quality aftermarket parts? Pistons, timing chains, that type of stuff?

There are lots of sites but it depends where you are. US and UK seems to have lots of choices. In Canada here we are limited because shipping is always crazy expensive. ECS tuning, FCP Euro and for oem replacements/equivalents then Rock Auto.
