I slap bags on mine and it takes me all over Europe, effortlessly up and down mountain roads and then down rough tracks to the beach. Its fast enough to frighten yourself, and with a new comfy seat(essential) it eats miles with ease. Cruise control etc Then you can put on the leather jacket and pose around town if required...or go shopping on it. It really is a jack of all trades.

How’s the suspension .. I see so many people complaining about it . I’ve sold my GS 1200 and plan to pick this up as it’s more useable on a daily basis so that’s why I ask .

@@kseth6992 My post stayed up so I will answer your post! The back suspension is a bit primitive. I keep meaning to get round to fitting better suspension...but I have toured a fair bit with the factory suspension and ,set up to your own needs, it is perfectly OK. People get a bit obsessed in my mind with perfection, settings and tuning...what did folks do with all those great bikes in the 70's?...they got on wth what they had. I have kept the rear suspension set up pretty hard to allow me to push on a bit and enjoy throwing it about. With the recommended factory suspension setting it did wallow about a bit. All in all its fine now. The front suspension is simple but Ok. Its not a sports bike and the front forks are adequate for the riding you will do. I like the scrambler. I tried most of the other so called classic models Triumph, kawasaki etc and they were in my opinion, all boring in comparison with the R9T . Smoother yes, better no. Sometimes I moan about the short first gear for eg but all in all when I get on the bike it makes me smile and I do not regret buying one at all. I will keep it for some more years and will do a 2 thousand mile plus trip on it in a few weeks...it will do it all and take on all tasks no problem. I hope that helps. Its a quirky fun machine that is more than fast enough and can do most things you throw at it with ease..heated grips, cruise control are very handy. the engine, once you get out of first gear is great fun. Get a new seat though!!! Its essential...I got the factory one re upholstered wth more padding for my backsaide to enjoy.

@@paulwalker797well that’s helps a lot . I do agree with you on so many other levels about achieving perfection and warping ourselves in cotton wool while complaining about any and all things . Thanks once again mate , I hope I can find a used R9T scrambler soon ✌🏽. Cheers .

I always was wondering why you find so many ninet's on the used market with so extreme low milage....now that I own one I know why... This bike is all about the looks, in nothing else its very good or useful. But every time I walk down the stairs and see it standing there I fall in love like the first time and can't wait to ride it again :-D

Thank you for the great reviews ! I own the 2021 r nine t and I don’t miss the rpm gauge or gear number indicator, I do miss the fuel gauge.

Gollyyy... I thought I recognized Jamboree. Nice to see a fellow OC'er putting out quality reviews! I'm in Irvine, myself. Been looking into the R nineT line for my next bike. Love the look of the Scrambler over the classic R nineT. I'd be curious to know just how much better the suspension on the classic is compared to the Scrambler.

Most of us GS riders actually do not wear 1 piece suits. 😅 I have R1250 GS and R1250 R. The R is definetly more fun to ride and being a naked bike (mine has the OEM sport screen) with 17” front and back wheels it is more agile. The agas is great for extended moto-camping and I do packed dirt, gravel and some not too harsh 2-tracks, but nothing gnarly (too old for that now). I had been thinking about this scrambler, but the fact you do not have gear indicator is a turn off. It would seems that they should at least offer a small light/icon to indicate the bike is in neutral. Disappointed.

OK fear enough..but it could be solved..upgrade it Gear Indicator..... 👌🏻

It's not that I don't like Because when I see one I was give a good stare at it, but when you take a very good close up look it doesn't give me any offroadish Inspiration kinda vibes. It looks heavy by simply looking at it and I'm sure it is but I would consider the Pure model, the Ducati for light offroad scenarios looks much more appropriate IMO if one wish to venture beyond where the Tarmac ends.

If you are getting pushed back too much, maybe retrofit a seat belt 😅
