Watching from Romania. I see some agitated males there, such birds didn't work well for me, I'm curious how they will work for you. I love two blue bars on the top perches, I bet on them: the last one at the right and the one in the middle of the frame at 4:57. Good luck!

HI JAMES, you got some beautiful youngsters there. I noticed one with a dropped tail feather, I have known flyers kill them for that. They are making a big mistake. I have known many a champion pigeon that had dropped tail feathers as young birds,when they moult out they are no longer longer dropped, they are perfect what is your view on dropped tail flights?

Great to hear from you Kevin! That’s a good observation with the YB with the one tail feather hanging. I have no problem with that; I think that sometimes happens when the YB falls awkwardly and bends some tail feathers at the base. I’ll look at that one though and see what’s going on. 👍🏼

@Robertson Family Racing Pigeons ONE OF MY BEST BREEDING HENS HAD TWO DROPPED TAIL FEATHERS ONE ON EACH SIDE, HER SON WAS THE SAME AS YOUNGSTERS, HE ALSO WAS ONE OF MY TOP BREEDING COCKS. THE 2 YOUNGSTERS IN THE PHOTO. I CAN SEE 1 IS A SMOKEY BLUE IS THE OTHER A PENCIL BLUE. TWO GRAND YOUNGSTERS BEST OF LUCK WITH THEM JAMES 👍

Great point with the dropped tail feather, Kevin. I was going to ask James about this as well but decided to read the comments first. I thought this happens when you try to catch them and accidentally you pull the feathers just a bit. But I also thought it might be from a disease or deficiency. It is a detail I never noted in my excel file of each pigeon but from what I remember I lost most of the dropped feather youngsters in the young bird races. However, last year my best youngster female had a dropped feather, she was my first arrival at the last 3 races with young birds. She was also the first one to get a male when I moved them in autumn in the old birds section, and the first to lay eggs there as a young bird. Really curious to see what she does next.

Great question. If the breeders are feeding babies then I feed them 2 times each day. If they are not feeding babies then 1 times each day is ok

@@dougsanders4012 .. We've never met, but my name is Kevin.. Just a pigeon man who lives in the same area as the TCH Club. A pigeon man always knows a pigeon man. I don't fly with the Club, but keep an eye on all the happenings. I went from flying birds to now owning and racing thoroughbred horses, but still have the itch to get back into breeding and flying again. That's an itch that is hard to scratch. You were good friends with Alex and I'm sure you knew Bud Freitas (RIP) and the Nesler Bros. I visited Buds loft a number of years ago when I came back down from Oregon where I flew with the Oregon Trail Combine in the 90's. Bud was a great guy and a good flyer. He showed me his birds and even took me down to the old clubhouse when it was near Green Valley and gave me the grand tour.. LOL. I thought you moved over to Manteca or was that Gene Tenbrink? Now you're up there close to Dr. Mike Brown and his Sions. Are you still flying?
