2023 Rails to River XC Mountain Bike Race Highlights | Trek X-Caliber 8

Last weekend, I competed at the Rails to River XC mountain bike race, organized by EX2 Adventures. I did the 7-mile race and had a blast. This was the third year I competed in this bike race. Filmed on DJI Osmo Action 3.

Question: Your bike looks to be a Marlin 4. How does it perform? I’m considering it as a weekend trainer bike.

Just bought the X-Caliber 9, but wondering whether or not I should go the Roscoe route now. This would be the type of trails I ride. Great video!

Thanks for watching! My understanding is that the X-Caliber and Roscoe are the same frame, just different components. So if you want a beefier bike, you can some day put on wider wheels and tires and a 120mm fork.

Did you do any upgrades changes to your bike before racing it?

There's a video on my channel (I think) that goes into depth on some of the upgrades I did to my bike from stock. Over the years I added a dropper post, changed the derailleur to SRAM GX Eagle, and changed the tires to Maxxis Aspen. Those are the major changes
