the 1 year rule 1:08 - this is my rule of thumb. especially for old furniture.. sometimes it goes to goodwill, sometimes it just goes into the firepit - there is something about burning things that really seems to cleanse the soul. When I was moving my mom from her home to an apartment - we ended up burning like 5 big pieces of furniture that were just not usable. busting them apart and breaking them down and lighting them on fire - was so therapeutic for me and for my mom as well.

Not done watching and loving so much of this chat but God I wish there were content warnings about ai chats because they send me down quite the spiral. Mostly of wondering if there will even be any point of living in the future, or will it just be a money shifting game and any human talent and skill is at most a cute trick to pull out at dinner parties. Best I can say for now is that Ai is a hard line for me, will not support any "creative" work done by Ai in any capacity, for whatever that is worth, and hope that there can at least be pockets of humanity where craftsmanship and developed human skill matter, and not just endless cheap consumerism. This constant fight for the fast easy cheap way of doing anything and everything is going to be our undoing.

BTW, regarding how people will want to know ahead of time if it's human or ai generated (1h33m), would love to see a filter feature on youtube. There are tons of videos where still images, or just text is shown, while a robot-sounding voice is narrating a particular solution to a tech problem.
