When we got pulled over in Quebec I didn’t get in any trouble with the mirrors that come on the hand guards
@sledaddicz Жыл бұрын
It's hit or miss...but typically they aren't considered legal in Quebec and need to be mounted to the hood. Some cops won't give you a problem but others will. That's why we literally buy 10$ mirrors from Canadian tire and stick them to our side panel just in case. Cheers, Mike
@jasoncampeau2948 Жыл бұрын
That’s so weird, I got my sled from Quebec, and it came with the little mirrors on the handbars . I guess it depends on the cop
@sledaddicz Жыл бұрын
@@jasoncampeau2948 exactly. That's why a 10$ set of two mirrors where I put one on each of my sleds is fool proof and leaves no room for argument because the law is "mirror affixed to the body of the snowmobile"

Great video Mike! I'm surprised to hear you had quite a few issues with your 850. My buds G5 XRS was all good this season although he did get some surging when running the big wide open trails up north for long periods at insane speeds, while my Mach was right at home on those trails. My last 850 was a 2020 and it was flawless throughout. I did run the Ultimax on that 850 and just to be clear the Ultimax is a softer(grippier) belt then the stock 571 belt, so it LOSES approx 200 to 250rpm on top when compared to stock 571. I think you said it gained in video but I knew what you were meaning. For the guys reading, you can lighten up your pivot pin bolts on each ramp, this will gain back the Ultimax lost rpms. You want to lighten the bolts by 2grams. Stock pivot bolt is 15.1g I swapped them for shorted bolts that were 13.2g which nails the rpms perfectly with the grippier Ultimax. With that being said, i went back to stock belt on Mach after blowing a Ultimax at 1200miles only, so while I do think Ultimax performs slightly better, I have seen them not last as long and make a real mess! Great season of videos guys i always enjoy them. I got more content up this year too & hopefully even more next season, Cheers!

Hey Dan! Yes that's precisely what I meant in the video and clearly you know what I experienced. That stickiness is what I love about those belts! I had one go after 1800 kms this season but my next one was flawless so far for over 4500kms. I think it was manufacturer defect perhaps and they replaced it quickly no problems. You are spot on the clutching and that's exactly what I meant however we added weight - not removed any. Thanks for the commentary this season and hope you had a wicked riding year brother! Let the wait begin! Cheers, Mike

So I had the same issue with my sled. Same sled same year. It will not exceed 90 miles an hour on the road. I brought it back to the dealer they reflash did they read it and Spun it to 112 miles an hour. Then I took it back out for a test run, but it did not solve a problem. When I returned, it is sad that for a couple of weeks and then the season ended where it will remain until next winter.

Make sure your belt has proper deflection which is high/alot of deflection and make sure your chaincase tension is tight. I've never had an issue and have owned a new 850 since 2017

Hi Mike, Circling back on this. Now nearing 2024 riding season with 23 Rene XRS, do you know if there is any fix on that big screen blanking out?

Hey John. My understanding is that the dealer has a fix for it. Not something I did as I sold my 23 for a 24 and the problem is fixed on the 24s I believe. Reach out to your dealer. Keep me posted. Cheers, Mike

Awesome vid Mike,,,,I just got a 23 renegade cars 850 700 k on it and am having issues as well with max rpm not being consistent,,you said you got a reflash done is that available at the dealer..
@sledaddicz Жыл бұрын
That's not what's causing the rpm issue. It's the belt. BRP belts are notorious for belt fade. We run the Ultimax XS821 on our 850s and it's fantastic. Eliminates the fade to get max rpm all day long. We also sell them on our website sledaddicz.com if you decide you want to grab one! Cheers, Mike

@sledaddicz Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks Christopher! That's really nice of you and we appreciate the support. I have no issues with another 4 stroke but they definitely aren't as fun and snappy and light as a 2 stroke. The 4 strokes are just a little better on fuel - not really all that noticeable with the 900r vs. 850 but you'll save on the oil. You'll just have to wait and see what's coming! We have 4 new sleds coming next season in our crew. Cheers, Mike

From what I hear the new switch gear is a flop. The appearance of it does look good. But a lot of people say they have gone backwards compared to the Gen4’s -buttons to small to press with gloves - buttons to close to together. -needs color coding Especially the on/off button. And the biggest complaint is the hand/thumb warmers They need to go back to separate hand and thumb control switches. And they need to function like previous years. Yes you can adjust temps in gauge for each the hand and thumb, BUT people want the 2 buttons like the previous years , so they can toggle independently from each other up and down. Hopefully they remedy this for ‘24’s.
@sledaddicz Жыл бұрын
Hey bud. I definitely agree with the hand warmer adjustment - they need to be separate and allow both up and down. I don't find the buttons too small or close together to press with gloves at all - that hasn't been a problem for me. The color coding would be nice but the reality is you know where your start button is and shouldn't need the color to tell you where to start your sled. Cheers, Mike
