Some say this tv is fantastic with less than 100 dimming zones. That SONY processing is no joke I guess. 😊Great looking TV too. 😊

@guitarplayer4429 no, it's various reviewers exposing the under engineering of sony. It stands to reason that more dimming zones should minimise blooming. Sony use 480 zones on their Ferrari models, so even they know that bigger numbers is effective.

They have the best motion handling in the biz, I kept an 82” Samsung tv for 28 days trying to get it to look great, on the last day I almost decided to keep it when I seen it blur an old man walking down the street, I called a friend with a truck who had a broken hand, we returned it I got the 950g and loving it to this day, I’ve said and it’s true, I would not change my 75” 950g for that 82” Samsung with a full refund, that would defeat the purpose of all the research I done prior, it came down to those two tvs and I will never waste time in a Samsung again. A little blooming?? Yah but I watch tv, movies and game, I don’t watch a little white ball in a black screen, and again the less $ Sony blows the more expensive Samsung way way out of the water.

The previous model to this we had for about seven months before the infamous fade to black screen. We got it from Costco so we immediately contacted the warranty department for Costco which then got a hold of Sony. We ended up taking pictures and video of the issue, and now Sony will be sending us this model. We were ready to try out a different brand but obviously since they are sending us this model we are very happy with Costco and Sony’s warranty department.

Can everyone give me your opinion? I want to buy a 75X90L but one problem is that this TV is black at the 4 corners of the screen and blooming a bit. The question here is should I reduce it to 65 inches to buy the 65X95L, is it worth it (75x90L vs 65X95L)? And does the black screen corner phenomenon still occur on the X95L? My room does not have direct sunlight and does not have too many bright lights white, just yellow lights, picture lights. The content I mainly watch is soccer and TV channels, sometimes I watch a little Netflix

@scottschoppert9149 As far as the picture is concerned, they will be exactly the same. The CL version is the club version, like what would be sold at stores that require membership fees, and it comes with a backlit remote control and slightly longer extended warranty.

New customer as of two weeks ago. Does anyone else struggle with the picture result from Fios or Cable boxes to this TV? Is it because most cable boxes can only exceed 60 hz? Even the HD channels look OK and the single 4K channel on popular sport games stutters a lot.

According to RTINGS, it's brighter, and has less blooming, but the Sony upscales better. Also, the samsung has a worse PQ. The Samsung also has that odd anti-glare effect.

@@monaattiah3976 That's the ability of the television to show low resolution content, such 720 or 1080. Although most of the new movies coming out are in 4K, a lot of movies are in 1080 and sports and DVDs are in 720. All the apps will tell you what resolution the content is in before you watch it if you find the settings for it. Bad upscaling will lose detail in lower resolution content, or create blocking. The RTINGS website explains it better than I can. It's a bit frustrating because all the KZbin people and stores present a misleading view of the televisions.

I was told by a SONY rep that I would be able to plug in another console/mini pc to the soundbar's HDMI ports if I choose to get one. Could you clarify if this setup would affect the hardware's performance such as image qualities and lag issues. Thank you.

@darkcamo77 The HTA5000 or HTA7000 would work as they both have an HDMI input and output and both can pass through 4k/120hz, but neither will do VRR at the moment. It's possible it could happen through an update in the future, but Sony hasn't said definitively yet whether it will. You shouldn't notice any performance difference unless you plan on using the VRR feature.

@@abtelectronics posting from late 2023 should someone else read this and be wondering. VRR and ALLM are now supported on the HT-A5000 and HT-A7000 soundbars (HDMI 2.1 pass through). Full disclosure I own none of these so no idea how well it works. I am however, thinking of getting an AT with a new Sony TV so have been looking around and reading about what’s what.

It does have some anti reflecting coating that diffuses the light. It has great brightness for both HDR and SDR watching. So, it will be great in bright room.

Did you pull the trigger on getting one? I got the 65" this weekend and it's in my living room facing the kitchen. I could see it the kitchen window reflection during a dark scene of Lord of the Rings but that was it. It's a damn bright tv

My Mom had one delivered Friday. We are having trouble accessing app and menu screens, there is no manual of course and Sony’s website is useless! Picture is great

@sj460162 The QN95C is definitely a step up. It's not a totally fair comparison to the X90L since the QN95C has mini LEDs. A better comparison would be to the X93L. Between those we found the Sony to have more accurate colors, but the Samsung is better if you're a gamer with more than one next gen system. The QN95C is the only one worth it from Samsung...IMO I considered their QN90C but the fact that it's still a bloom fest (as shown in one of Quantum TV's videos) while being a Mini-LED defeats the purpose of Mini-LED therefore you might as well go with the x90L since they at least offer better upscaling.

The Samsung Neo QLEDs are better than anything Sony is offering in the LCD department. They have way more local dimming zones and are better with motion and viewing angles.

It's available out of the box. Last year's X90K required a firmware update for that feature.

I don’t get why they spend time on reviewing the sound of modern TVs. It’s bad. It is physics. You have to have some form of external speakers no matter what, so why bother? It is just noise in the overall, and I want the producers to spend as little money on built in audio as possible!

So the blooming and lighting zone transitions aren't great. A subtitle on a dark background can light it up like a Christmas tree. Oled's don't have that problem, but at this price level they are quite dark - I would recommend the LG G3 and not the Sony A90K. But Oled's also have bad stutter. Choosing the Sony x90K over the LG G3 is choosing a bit brighter picture with blooming or a slightly darker picture with stutter. If you don't mind a little Soap Opera Effect, then get the LG G3.

Bro dead wrong . Hdr movies are brighter on g3 than Qn90c which is brighter than x90l . Only full screen sdr content like sports look brighter on x90l but it sucks really bad in hdr . Not even fair comparison . Infinite contrast and microcontrast in the image vs lcd tv . LCDs don’t just bloom around an object but there’s blooming or loss of detail inside the object

I had this tv its not bad, perfect for gaming 65 inch. it was pretty heavy.. it stutters in certain movie scenes, it was noticeable and it annoyed me.. so I took it back

Google "Sony TV Consumer Affairs". They charge you more for less and their warranty is only 1 year like any other manufacturer.
